When I was growing up I always wished I lived in the US or UK around Halloween. The movies made it look like a lot of fun.
I first got to experience Halloween outside of movies about five years ago, when I moved to the US. It was fun the first couple of years but now it feels like going through a lot of trouble just to get drunk.
Nothing against it, it's just not my thing.
Halloween feels to me like a lame version of a zombie apocalypse. I get to barricade myself inside the house and be really quiet so as to pretend no one is home while I hear the yells and howls of a horde of sugar-fueled children roaming the streets outside.
It is a partly amusing, mostly annoying experience for me.
