Y'all need to realize the reason Life defended War has nothing to do with what their job actually is and more about their rights as individuals.
And comparing why Life defended War and why Life disliked Death is not the same at all.

I just... I can't believe how much depth these characters have. Stuff three dimensional characters, they're twelve dimensional. It's all done so well that it doesn't feel like they're contradictory. They are portrayed realistically and it's beautiful. It's what makes this comic, this story so beautiful. Life especially, his characterisation is so well done that every expression, movement and word feels real.
