A blur of black claws made it's way through. Their backs were against the wall as the large hand was rampaging, it covered half of the cave room, hitting the walls and scratching the ground.
He pulled out the sword from its casing, looking at the sword in disbelief, It's made of wood? No wonder it felt light. He thought. His hands were trembling, tightening his grip and pointing it at the monster. He flailed the sword at its hand, closing his eyes, screaming at the top of his lungs.
The hand retreated, "What happened?" She asked.
"I think... I hurt it,"
A blunt blow hit the walls outside, shaking the room. Faint noises of struggle made them flinch.
Slowly, she made her way out. "Mira! No!"
"Come on! Let's go!" signaling the boy, he gripped the sword close to his body and forced his legs to move.
The monster was flailing around beyond the cave, hitting the walls and stumbling on rocks. A thud came behind them. Quickly turning into a defensive stance, an animal on all fours was in front of them. "Stay back!" He shouted. The creature's features were distinct, a black dog, wearing a dog skull on its head to cover its face.
A loud noise punched through the wall beside them, laying on the ground was another dog, twitching and gasping for air. The monster was already entering it's gaze on the two, peeling off something from its body as it yelped in its hand.
The dog behind them moved away, turning its head around to face them. "I... I think it wants us to follow it," he said.
"What? Are you crazy!"
Another loud noise shook the ground, another dog landed beside them. "He's not killing us now, so he must be the good guy! Come on!"
Still relentless to join, she only gave a sigh, then bolted forward to the boy's side, the dog ran deeper into the cave as they tried catching up with it.
Thin air filled their lungs, bombarded by the shivering winds, the two found themselves in a field of cerulean crystals. His feet was being beaten by the cold rocks and pebbles, the girl was just beside him while the dog guided them through the radiant maze.
A roar came waving into the room, shaking the crystals and shattering their ears, rocks exploded behind them, the monster was on all fours, hot on their trail.
The light came from the distance. A large opening with an enormous hole pouring light welcomed them. Beneath it all was a large land of flat rock, like an arena surrounded by a current of water.
The dog was already at the center, "Come on!" He said. Going down a slope of rocks to meet the small river. A thundering roar quaked the cave once more.
The monster was at the top, scanning the area. They hid behind a muddy wall below, backing to cover themselves from view. The dog started barking, calling the monster's attention, it came in a rush, jumping down just in front of the girl and boy, it's back against them, and roughly crossed the river.
