Night still covered the island, the trees slowly withering, the air once more polluted by decay. The sound of sleeping nature eased their worries, feeling their feet tickled by the ground as they near a meadow.
The colors of the night shifted into a rainbow as they passed by. The meadow, impersonating the sky. "Reminds me of the time we all went to sanctuary." She began, "It was every Sunday night. All of us gathered to hear a person talk about stories inside an old book."
He dropped his shoulders, watching his feet stepping on the grass.
"It was funny, but I didn't believe all of them. Until now, when we found those drawings, I'm surprised those stories got themselves all the way here and were actually carved on a wall."
He did not respond to what the girl said.
"I believe properly grasping the truth is better than to live under a set of faithful rules. But right now..."
"What were those drawings, Mira?"
"Elisai. The story of the savior. I could tell you the whole story if you want."
He nodded.
"Alright. Elisai was a warrior from a distant land, he was tasked to do difficult jobs like slaying dragons, protecting villages and destroying hordes of monsters to retain peace and prosperity. One day he was tasked to return an item to a temple called Origins, here on this very island. But he disappeared."
"Where'd he go?"
"Until now, it's still a mystery, but it's just an old story."
"Why don't you go back home?"
She smiled, "Home, is dying. I came here to find a cure. One of the elders told me a magical seed of life was here, if I could bring it back they'll make a potion. That's why I'd like you to come with me."
"With... you?"
"Yeah, I need the seed, to make a cure, You're welcomed to join me, I'll introduce you to my family. And we'll both save everyone together." Smiling gleefully at the boy.
"I... I can't, I still have to take care of mama, I don't wanna leave her."
She bowed her head, cascading her hair on her face.
"I see... in that case." She pushed him forward. A vine entangled his feet, swooping him from the ground and leaving him hanging upside down. She slowly removed the seed from his hand.
