"I'm sorry, but... I couldn't convince you. And I need this more than you do." She said.
"What? What are you doing?"
"Fulfilling my promise. I promised to find a way to cure the illness. And so I will."
Cut me loose, I have to bring that seed to Origins! It's the only way for me to go back home!"
"Origins is destroyed. I destroyed it. And there is no way for you to go back home."
"W-what?"
"I knelt there, prayed to any god that might hear me. I hoped they would help find my little brother, I hoped, they would give me a cure, and you know what happened? Nothing. I heard nothing. I threw all of my explosives that day."
"Origins... is gone? But the voices-"
"I don't care! I don't care anymore. I don't care anymore if they were whispers from gods! They will never help us!"
The forest continued to decay, "I questioned my faith the moment the plague began. Nobody helped us, no god! Came down from the sky and helped us! Everyone who believed- even my family! Went to sanctuary for healing, but nobody couldn't!"
"Mira..."
"No miracles happen by just believing, they only happen if you do something to make them happen! Are you listening! Gods! Ghosts! Whoever they are! They do not exist! You hear me! Those voices in your head are just your own crazy thoughts!"
"Stop it!"
"My family is dying, the whole village I grew up in is dying. This is your last chance, join me... Or I'll be forced to leave you here alone!"
The boy did not respond.
"I see. I'm sorry, it was hard for me too, but... understand that my reasons are more important... I have to do this." Putting the seed inside her pocket.
"Mira?" The boy's voice grew distant, her steps were cold, moving slowly while listening to him crying out her name, hoping he would change his mind. Her presence was ready to leave but she spun around. "No... I can't... I can't do this." Before she could move back to save him, two red glowing eyes stared back from the forest. The boy saw a dark molding figure rising from the trees.
