It's Monday. I lived through Saturday and Sunday fine. My photo shoot was like always. A bunch of flashes, bossing around, loud voices, and my mom being as judgmental as ever. I barely woke up, got dressed, and dragged myself to the kitchen.
There, I saw my dad and sister sitting at the table. My sister looked happy, just eating her food, and my dad seemed like he was enjoying himself as well, until he looked up and saw me.
He sighed, and looked back down at his food. I don't know why my parents hate me so much but love my sister. Maybe when she was born, there was just no more space left for me in their hearts.
Eventually, I learned to deal with it, and just ignore their judgmental stares whenever I get close. It could be any reason, I'm not tall enough, not pretty enough, they can't control me as much, I was born a girl instead of a strong, and reliable boy. I don't know what it is.
Anyway, this doesn't matter anymore. I sit down, and starting eating the food a maid brings me. I don't know her name. I never know my maids' names. I see no point in it.
Finally, my dad starts talking. "We will be having some guests over for a week. Be nice, and don't embarrass us. Same drill. They came from Britain, and they will live here until they find a good house. They said it should take a week or less." He still wasn't looking up at me. He just switched to his phone.
Damn.. Guests? We gotta do all that dumb stuff again. Act nice, act loving, caring, understanding. I'm sick of it.
"Ok, dad." I say and sip the last of my coffee. He gets up with my sister, while saying, "Come on Anna sweetie, I'll drive you to school." Sick of it. I walk to my school because it's not that far, and when I enter my classroom, I see a guy sitting next to my seat. I come up to him, and ask "do I know you?"
He looks up to me, and answers "No?" He looks kinda familiar, but I let it go. I stretch my hand out to him and introduce myself. "My name is Paige Gale. What about you?" He looks at my hand, then at my face, and looks down on his desk again in disinterest.
"No need for it." Rude! I raise an eyebrow, and put my hand down. "What's your problem?" I say in disgust. Without looking up at me, he says "I'm not interested in getting to know you. You don't have to act so friendly with me." This guy is so irritating...
"Well I'm sorry for trying to be nice to you. I didn't expect you to be so freaking rude." He ignores me, and I hear the teacher behind me say "Is there a problem, Ms. Gale?" I sigh and sit in my seat "No, there isn't. I'm sorry Mr. Moore." He turns around towards the board, and says "Good, you've been good all this time, please don't start now."
Crap.. Act. Act. Keep yourself together Paige.
Don't let them out.
