Prudence simply looked at her she felt kind of bad for her. She remembered playing in the fields with her around 3 years ago. Prudence was only 14 she was young and small. Then, all feelings of sympathy she had to stuff away, once she herd one of the jury men say something. She realized it was only a mumble, but she payed attention to what he was saying.

" It was bound to have her be a witch. She stopped going to church 4 months ago and before that she didn't pay attention in church." said the jury man in a hush tone. His eyes looked at Elizabeth searching to see what she was seeing up above.

   Prudence just shivered being this close to someone who was called a witch and just remembering when they were younger was horrifying. As the last of the town arrived the judge went up on his stand and looked at her. Then, the men who called her out on being a witch sat down on their chairs with a brown table. Elizabeth was in the middle of the floor with rope around her hands, legs, and abdomen. The men talked among each other all saying which witnesses would be brought up and what they would use for evidence. 

   Elizabeth had to fight for herself with her own words. Everyone watched the judge as he began speaking.

"This is the final decision whether this ugh.... Girl.. uh.. is a witch or not. Men you begin." the judge said while looking at the men.

"Judge Artford this women is obviously a witch look at her she is demented." one of the 3 men stated while looking at Elizabeth in disgust. Right then Elizabeth snapped her down very quickly earning gasps from the audience which made her give a sickening laugh. Prudence was feeling uneasy.

"You see and sir if you don't believe me we can see the differences from 3 years ago. Prudence Constance if you will please come up to the stand." Said the same man while looking at her. She was surprised her father looked at her with a slight smile and a nod.

   She walked up to the stand in a manner that showed she was fearless, she was thinking of what they wanted. She came to the conclusion they wanted her to recite how she was 3 years ago.

" Prudence will you please tell us how she was 3 years ago from a old friend of her." He said while looking at her menacingly probably wanting her to act scared to make Elizabeth scared since they used to be friends. Prudence wasn't like that so she wouldn't be scared by the man.

"Well Elizabeth was kind. She would sometimes complain about church, but never meant it. She always looked lost but had always had sympathy for others. Elizabeth never interrupted me and she always would bake. She had a couple bad habits like not acting lady like, but that was fine. I still don't know what happened to her but toward the end of our friendship she became distant I thought she didn't like me but seeing her like this I think she was battling something in her mind." As Prudence ended her speech a tear fell from Elizabeth's face.

  Prudence looked at her old friend and mouthed what happened to you. As the same man began to speak. Elizabeth cut him off with a growl and began to speak herself but it sounded more like she was talking to someone who was about to die.
