Dr. Mitt is actually based on my AP World professor I had in high school. He made me grow as a person and made a difference to so many people. He passed the week before I started college (for which he wrote my rec letter for which I am forever indebted to him). One of the greatest teachers I've ever had the pleasure of having and he truly was the "benevolent dictator" he described himself as.
