Kupala Night or Kupala is one of the most important holiday in Slavic religion. Like Midsummer or St John's Day, Kupala is celebrated during the summer solstice.
There are many traditions related to Kupala – floating wreaths, jumping over bonfires, ritual purification in rivers or lakes and, last but not least, seeking the fern flower.
Although the fern flower myth is widely spread in Slavic cultures, as far as we know, the origins of the myth are unknown. This is why, inspired by the beauty of this legend, we came up with a little story about the creation and meaning of the magical flower of the fern.
For those not familiar with Slavic mythology:
Mokosh – Slavic Godess of Earth, fertility, a protector of women’s work and destiny.
Svarog – Slavic God of sun, fire and blacksmithing.
Perun – Slavic God of thunder and lightning
