Luke's P.O.V.

"I'm not a horrible person, I just don't give a shit." He went to my nightstand and pulled out a cigarette. I held up another one to Caleb, but he declined. "If I really cared about every little aspect of my life, I probably wouldn't be here." The fan looked around my room as if he were searching for clues. There wasn't anything that held sentimental value in this room. There were just a bunch of ST3LLAR posters everywhere.

"Why? Did someone do something to you? Were you abandoned? There has to to be something," Caleb muttered, twisting his facial muscles.

"It's nothing like that...I just don't give a- I don't care." I put the bundle of nicotine out and grabbed Caleb's arm. "You have to leave, now. I'm already in a lot of crap already, I don't need you to mess up anything else." He looked like a confused baby that couldn't tell the difference between two colors.

"Your parent know you're here right? I swear to God, Caleb-" As if on cue, the red and blue lights flashed outside of the window. I managed to conjure up the most annoying noise in my throat and let it out.

"I'm going to regret this decision for the rest of my life," I said, pulling on some suitable clothes and tossing a pair of shoes to Caleb. I quickly dialed Alex's number as I dragged Caleb out of my room. He wasn't picking up the phone. I swore under my breath but managed to keep moving. My feet slapped the carpet underneath the both of us. I grabbed the keys to my least favorite car. This was bad, really bad.

"You're parents called the cops on me!?" Caleb smiled a genuine smile as if it was something to be happy about. "That's what you get," he shot back. He didn't seem like the big baby I thought he was before. Instead, I felt like I was dragging another Maddy around.

We arrived in the garage, and there was complete silence. I couldn't here the police, but there was no mistaking the flashing colors. I through Caleb to the ground and bent down next to the garage window. "If I go to jail, I promise you that I'll make your life miserable." Again, the mood seemed very familiar. Instead of looking at Caleb, I saw Maddy. The garage turned into the hospital room. "Luke, I hate you," the words echoed through my ears. Everyone seemed to hate me sooner or later, so why did these words have such an effect on me? Was a really that terrible of a person to put Maddy into a hospital? And even now, my actions are taking a toll on people.

There was a tapping sound coming from the other side of me. Caleb was holding a stick, continuously hitting the ground. It was in sync with one of the songs on ST3LLAR'S new album.  couldn't help, but sing along. "Before the light goes out,

I want to know two things. Are you coming back and were you really ever there?" The veins in my head starting throbbing. The red and blue lights were starting to fade away, but that didn't mean that I was going to be any less cautious.

"I'm taking you home, okay? Don't say anything to me. When get home, tell your family everything. Call me whatever you want. If you happen to talk with Alex, tell him that I'm taking a break. Okay?" The fan simply nodded, taking him time to stand up. I moved to the driver side of my car and unlocked the door. Who knew that being a famous singer would cause this many issues?

Caleb's P.O.V.

The amount of effort I put into not punching this guy in the face was ridiculous. I decided to listen to Luke, but that didn't mean I wanted too. He wasn't a good guy, but at least he cared about something. Music. I was beginning to think that there was more to his story. It just didn't make sense. One minute he's willing to talk about his emotions, and then he starts acting like an ass. I just didn't understand it. I could say the same for myself. I wasn't exactly the happiest camper, but at least I knew how to act around people, reasonable people.

I had plenty of time to think about what was going to happen once I got home. For one, I was going to be grounded for life. Mom and Chris were going to talk my head off for the next couple of months. I didn't even want to think about what Dad was going to do. I don't regret anything though. How many times can you say you were kissed, insulted, and driven home by your idol? Exactly.

The sun was starting to come up, it's vibrant colors spreading across the sky. The first orange hued rays of sunrise kissed the still dust laden rubble with the same loving care as the undertaker with the recently departed. These soft rays that should have brought warmth to a new day only acted to solidify the reality of their losses. In the dark, they had only the smell of the bombs and the fires to contend with, but under the radiating glow of the clouded sky, there was no hiding.

I paused trying to hold back the strange feelings rumbling inside me but I couldn’t. A lone tear traced down my cheek, and just like that, the floodgates opened. So many tears burst forth like water from a dam, spilling down my face.

Luke didn't dare to make a sound. I could feel the tension in the air, rising and falling abruptly as the minutes went past. My eyes felt heavy after a while and my muscles were just as weak. Falling asleep seemed like a good idea, but that was the last thing I wanted to do. Especially next to a horrible, asshole that had communication issues. I stared out the rear view mirror looking behind me, but continuing forward.
