The strange inhumane growl pounded against my ears again. My hand instinctively reached under the skirt of my dress to grasp the silver dagger attached to the garter on my thigh. The dagger was my mother's, a gift from her. She gave it to me before she died. It had silver handle with a red ruby in the middle. The blade was sharp to the touch and jagged.

Engraved on the dagger, it said 'Eira'.

It meant snow in Welsh. I never knew what that meant. My grey eyes, instantly turned amber gold with catlike iris. I knew this because my ears heard a twig snap. My hand took out the dagger, holding it defensively in front of me. I circled around.

I instantly snapped around to where the eerie voice came from and shot the knife. The sound of the knife hitting the tree startled a flock of crows, causing them to fly off. My hand then reached to grasp the sword attached to my dress. I put on the hood of my silky black cloak.

"Who goes there? Ryland, I swear, if that's you, I shall hang thee!"

I snapped around again. What was that?

I heard it again, but louder. The owner of the voice must be close. Then there was a rustling in the bushes, I held up my sword and crouched down. I was ready to pounce. My eyes widened in anticipation while my fangs and claws sharpened, ready to attack. Then the creature soon started to come out, so I leaped and pounced right on top of the creature. With all my might I began punching it and kicking at the rock hard body.

"Holy, sister! Why art thou abusing me?!"

I recognized the owner of this voice very well. "Ryland?"

"Sister, did thou not receive my mindlink?"

I blinked and slowly put my sword back. My claws and fangs retracted back into my skin. "No, I must have blocked you out."

"We're leaving."

"Oh. I'm coming."

Ryland offered me his arm and I took it. But I couldn't help but think about that strange voice calling me. I didn't know what it was, but it sounded familiar in a way. This was quite peculiar.

Someone that has some sort of connection to my soul.
