That voice was just like silk. Smooth and wonderful.
I was frozen in place. I couldn't move. I just couldn't.
"Mio bambino, fear me not."
He came closer and reached for my mask and hood. Agonizingly slowly, the man took off my mask and it dropped to the floor, making a sound. Thud. He lowered my hood. My dull grey eyes stared up at him in wonder and worry.
"You're so beautiful. When you begin the transformation, you will be the most beautiful of immortals."
His voice was perfection, the most wonderful of sounds. Like a drug. A drug I was addicted to already. Then I saw small tears watering up in his eyes.
"Just like your mother." His voice cracked.
He was now caressing my cheek and his free hand banded around me, pulling me into his warm embrace.
"How doth thou knowst my mother?"
I tried to speak with an intimidating harsh tone, but it came out as a mere squeak. How does this man know about her? I have never seen him my whole life! She hasn't mentioned a breathtakingly beautiful man ever!
But he was ignoring my question, only smiling. Grinning like a Cheshire cat.
"You have my eyes." He exclaimed that as if that was the most wonderful thing in the world! A large grin soon crept its way onto his face, pure joy. Wonderful joy.
"Many immortals have grey eyes."
That was lie. A pure and complete lie. I was the only immortal with grey eyes, besides him.
The man just grinned again.
"And you're mother's smile." He began to tear up.
"My mother's gorgeous hair." Pardon, was what I wanted to say. But I couldn't speak. Not at all. My voice was long gone by now. Drowned out by this angelic vision standing before me.
"And my father's skin. You are truly a Nikolaevna."
What was a Nikolaeva? I have never heard such a surname. A family like that must have been ancient.
"I also feel your power and strength. Thou shalt be the most beautiful and powerful immortal to ever live. " He was truly flattering me by now.
When he started caressing my back soothingly. As I was pulled deeper into his embrace, I spoke.
"S-S-Should I know thee?" I stuttered.
He sighed. "No, you were only a baby."
He paused and stared intensly at me.
"That a father never would forget."
I gasped.
