Ha ha! Instead of answers it was just more questions all along! Bwa ha ha!
I realise now that this is pretty Planet of the Apes... but hopefully it'll be different enough... and in any case, the monkeys aren't all that relevant, just a means to an end, and I hate them. It only made sense for them to be the first to find a neural flare and use it.
I tried to get back to making the panels more varied. Hope it broke up the green monotony a little CX
