“Sorry again Doc, but The General, well, he's the boss,” he leaned in closer to the screen and whispered, “I've made an escape route for most of you, but I can't keep it open for long. Just leave the girl and get out,” Doc shook his head
“Why are you following him? He's mad! He could cause the entire break down of society here!” Hax shrugged one shoulder at the monitor.
“At least he's never controlled us. We are still people Doc, but since we woke up, we never got treated like one. Time to be free. Cutting the strings now. Bye Doc, and good luck,” with that, the screen cut out and the machines in Doc's lab began to beep and go mad. Running his hands through his hair, Doc looked wildly around the room, his brain processing a million thoughts at once. Two super soldiers were coming to get Ten right now. He couldn't let them have her. She was special, she needed to be kept safe. Running to her, he began to tear off the wires connected by sticky pads, causing the machines to go even more crazy. Lifting her gently off the table, he staggered slightly. The new leg was heavy, a lot heavier than flesh and bone, but he managed to carry her to his desk. Lying her on the floor, his finger tips searched for the thin latch in the flooring that announced the opening to a small nuclear bomb shelter. It wasn't on any building schematics, so not even Hax would know about it. Not even Two would be able to see through to it. Hauling open the hatch, he quickly lowered the unconscious form of Ten into the small space below. It was ventilated to the outside some where, so he knew she would be safe here till she awoke. When she awoke....well, he hoped she would be smart enough to figure it out herself. He smiled fondly as he stroked her unconscious face, kissing her on the forehead.
“You are our last hope, my only daughter. Good luck,” with that, he stood, slammed closed the hatch and pulled his desk over on top. He looked around the lab. His lives work was about to be destroyed by the very things he had helped create. He might as well destroy the place by his own hand. The messier it was, the less likely any one would find the hatch. Picking up his chair, he began to smash the at the machines and the consoles surround him. Electricity crackled and glass smashed around him. Flinging the chair from him, he began to push over standing monitors, tearing paper apart. As he began tearing apart the latest read outs, his door slammed open and a tall, hugely muscled, figure filled the open space, grinning down at him
“Knock knock, only me,” Doc looked up at the massive, tanned, form of Four, the cybernetic arms gleaming in the lab light, a shadow of dark hair on his shaved head and a humorous look in his brown eyes.
“You won't get her. He won't have her,” Four moved into the lab, his body immediately filling the space, making the room seem smaller. He grabbed Doc by the front of his lab coat and raised him almost up to the ceiling, Doc's head brushing the bright lights. A form whizzed into the room, causing the paper on the floor to raise up and flutter about. Skidding to a halt, the pale form of Six looked up at Doc, hands on her slim hips, her short red hair swept back off her freckled face from the speed of her movement, her hazel eyes glittering dangerously.
“I heard your new little project had a better leg than both of mine. We best see about that, eh? Tell us where she is,” Doc's arms scrabbled round Four's arm and he shook his head
“Never. You have joined One, so you can both go to hell,” Four chuckled, Six joining in, her metallic legs pulsing with glowing fluids.
“Wrong answer Doc. Tank, throw him about a bit, but don't kill him. The General wants to leave him for the shufflers,” Tank grinned and Doc suddenly felt himself flying through the air, slamming into the nearest wall. His head exploded in pain and everything suddenly went fuzzy. He heard Six tut.
“The General wants him to experience his demise, don't knock him out by accident. Just break his legs or something,” Four sighed and shrugged
