I must admit that I hadn't noticed the Y. It's interesting, really.
I like that Syandana is sexless because it also removes the idea of a sex-bound capacity of compassion. We've often seen female figures of compassion and love, as if men couldn't be compassionate and loving (Jesus being an exception).
The black shepherd is quite a terrifying idea, and showing how a moral bias can lead to despotism and persecution. I haven't read the bible, but it felt extremely catholic in this glorification of suffering. If Syandana were to follow such a path, he would be worth killing as a cruel necessity, since violence can only breed violence.
The story of Heil Pentika is absurdly complicated... XD Therefore I deemed useful to write and draw these pages of explanations that nobody asked for. :D
