Birds Fly

I wish that in this world I mattered,

Because trust me, I never feel flattered,

I try my very best to be noticed,

But it's like everyone passes by in protest,

When I look at the birds above the tree,

I see them all flying free,

Meanwhile I'm trapped in a prison I've made for myself,

Almost like a book glued to it's shelf,

One day there was a crack in the wall,

I escaped, and ran out into the hall,

The world around me feels so real,

But then I remember my sad, sad deal,

I will be gone,

Forgotten,

Alone,

For as long as I live,

I will forever seek this life I crave,

I will forever be a bird trapped in a cage.
