It often surprises me that we make our pets do surprisingly human things. Fetch the ball: fetch that file, roll over and play dead: Monday mornings, don't look at me like that: for the last time I'm not lending you my dad's Porsche. It's no wonder we make them run around a treadmill for no reason but our own enjoyment. Sort of a meta-level joke in there somewhere.
