I luckily got to go to Normandy while gone - there's so many amazing medieval buildings there!

- Something that's often forgotten about catholic Cathedrals and churches, is that they used to be completely painted inside, with wonderful paintings, patterns and optical illusions! There are almost no painted cathedrals left, so when i waddled into Bayeux Cathedral i was extremely surprised to see many of the frescoes still intact!
There's always something special about the old catholic churches, they where build and decorated to be heavenly, beautiful and awe inspiring. Even with all the colors gone, the incredible amount of work put into these buildings causes them to still look stunning.
The bare walls gives a more pure and solemn feeling, but at the same time making the colors from the stained glass windows stand out even more. When you slowly walk around the giant cold stone building, it does feel magical getting hit by the warm colorful rays from the sun. ............. -
