I know some people were already aware of how Levi did his flaming body trick, but here's the confirmation. It was magic. Fire magic, obviously.

So.

There's that.

The original idea for his magic was slightly based off a game called Paladin's Quest. It was an old game on SNES, pastel-y colors. Not sure how many people actually played it. The system had no MP bar, and all spells/abilities drained HP instead. While technically Levi doesn't lose "health" per se, it's not exactly pleasant for him to use magic. One might wonder why he still does. There may be a reason why...
