There were some very real disagreements about who exactly created what using this method.
As the legend goes, Jack Kirby added a new character to the art of FANTASTIC FOUR #48, without discussing it with Stan Lee... the character? The Silver Surfer!!!
Initially reluctant about the hero, he quickly grew on Stan. Lee excitedly created a whole origin story about the Surfer... the problem? It wasn't the way Kirby imagined when he added the Surfer to the story!
Can you imagine true believers...
If our own Eclectic Ed and Jocose Jack started a decades long feud over Lava Lord?!?!
