Months later

Pepper's Prov

It all started that day, the day our world was changed by the unexpected. Mina, Yuki and I were sitting in my bedroom watching How To Get Away With Murder, when the show was interrupted buy an important announcement. Suddenly there was a huge bang and the ground started to shake. I lost my balance and fell to the floor.

"What the hell was that" Yuki said as Mina came over to help me up, we all looked at each other puzzled, I heard my parents run up the stairs. "We have to get out of here!" my father said and we followed him down the stairs. Suddenly all the animals in the neighborhood went crazy, dogs started barking, birds fled the trees and cats filled the streets. We stopped in the living room where the TV played the news. "A large asteroid has hit, causing havoc and a strange disease to be spread only affecting people above 18! Please take you children to the closest school, hall or hospital! The disease can only be spread by being bitten or even by an infected persons blood contaminating yours! People who have been infected are very dangerous so please keep your distance! For kids who have been infected with the disease it will kill you but only when you reach the age of 19! Kids who have been infected do show signs five days before death! Please remain calm and head to your closest safe point an......" The news presenter was cut off because the connection was poor.

My mum grabbed a bag filled with food, my dad and Yuki went around the house looking for something that they could use as weapons. When we were done collecting the things we needed we went outside and got into the jeep. "Wait!" I said before my father could start the car. I jumped out and ran towards the house, all of a sudden something rammed into me and I was on the ground, I looked up and to my horror what had rammed into me was the very thing that hunted me in my dreams. A Beheader. I squirmed and kicked trying to get the crazy infected person off of me but it was too strong for me. "Hey, get off her you bastard!" I heard Yuki growl and the Beheader went flying then hit a wall.

"Are you ok" he said as he held a hand out to me and I took it

"Yeah, He only managed to get a swipe at me before you knocked him right off" I said as I showed him the wound on my lower abdomen.

"What were you thinking just running off like that?"

"I forgot my panda" I lowered my head at how embarrassed I was that I still love my panda teddy bear even though I'm 15.

"Ok fine go get it before more of those things show up" I went into the house and ran halfway up the stairs.

"Beheaders"

"What?"

"That thing that just attacked me was a beheader?" I said running all the way up the stairs. When I got to my room I paused taking in all the memories I have had in there. From when we first moved in to Mina and I's first sleep over. I slowly walked to my bed and picked up my panda, just as I was about to leave I noticed and picture on my dresser. It was one of me and my old dog Shadow, he was my very first pet and best friend. I tear ran down my cheek as I held the picture in my hand, I took it out of the frame, folded it, then put it in my jean. I ran back down the stairs, out the house and into the jeep, as soon as my brother and I got in we drove off leaving everything behind.

The streets were filled with people running, screaming and trying to get to the safe points. We arrived at Northwood High and it was packed with panicking people, we grabbed our stuff and ran inside. A man stood on the stage, he had dirty blond hair and he wore a suit. He looked over at us and smiled "Mina thank god you are alive" he said as he walked down the stairs and headed our way. Mina ran up to her dad and gave him a big hug.

"Mr Kurunami thank you for bringing my daughter"

"You would of done the same for us Mr Yamato" my mother said with a smile

My dad and Mr Yamato walked away to discuss something, I looked over at them and they both looked my way. "Hmm could they be talking about me" I thought to myself. My dad and Mina's dad came back to talk to my mum. My dad told her something and she nodded sadly. "Thank you again for brining her to me safely Mr Kurunami" and with that Mina and her dad walked away.

Time flew by and it was already 10pm, all the doors and windows of the school were boarded up and the hall was turned into a sleeping aria. I lay in my sleeping bag next to Yuki thinking of todays events. "How is this possible? how can all my nightmares come true, this cant be happening" My thoughts were then interrupted by my mum waking Yuki and I up.

"Hi there my sweeties" she said in her sweet sing song voice.

"Hi mum, what are you doing up at this time?" Yuki said as he wiped the sleep from his eyes

"Well your dad wants us to go on a short trip"

"Where to?" I asked excitedly

"Shhh its a surprise, a very special one" she said as she wiped the hair from both our faces

We got up from our sleeping bags and I grabbed my panda. We snuck down the hallway, and got into the car. It was a long drive, Yuki and I were getting tired.

"Mum, can you sing us the song?" I asked tiredly

She smiled then she started to sing:
