Eden Oakes
“He was used to the dirty looks, the disgust. But Eden grew up on two principles, and one of them was that you did what you could to survive, no matter what. Even at the expense of others. So if he had to ruin some people’s lives to make his a little better– well, there was a time when Eden tried not to think about that."
Heellloo. My name is Ari and I write for Eden Oakes in the story But We Fall.
So Eden…. Eden is a troubled character. He’s been through a lot, but he’s come out stronger because of it. I think what I admire best about Eden is his resilience. Though it may not seem it, he’s been very tough throughout all the challenges he’s had to face in his life.
Eden’s arc isn’t necessarily all about recovery from struggles in his life; it’s also about rebirth. I want readers to see how Eden has made a turn for the better (or even for the worse). I want them to see the change in him from beginning to end. And I’d especially want them to use him as a lesson in how to react to certain situations.
I wrote a prologue for But We Fall a while ago. It was originally a challenge for myself. I wanted to see if I could handle five point-of-views at once. Obviously, I could not. So I went with another challenge. Finding four other people to co-write with me and seeing whether we butted heads or actually made some progress. I’m glad to say it was the latter, though occasionally the former.
So far, I’ve been nothing but glad that I found all these amazing writers to help me with an amazing story. We’ve put a lot of work into it, and we still have a long way to go, but I’m confident that we can do this.
I hope to see more from my fellow writers in the future because they are all so talented. I also hope to see this story get the credit it deserves.
