Elizabeth Davis
“From there, something within her took over. Though she was aware of her lips moving and knew she was giving the speech she’d given many times before, it didn’t register. Beth was running on automatic pilot, reciting words and laying out a plan of action she had never acted on.”
Hey! I’m Fritz, and I write Elizabeth Davis’s character in the story But We Fall.
Beth is all talk and no action. She inserts her “good deeds” into every conversation she has, even if the said deed has no relevance to the conversation topic. If I met her in real life, I’d probably hate her. Still, I admire the fact that she at least has the right idea (despite not acting on it)—at least for now.
I want readers to see that, yes, actions do speak louder than words. Beth isn’t somebody you should use as a role model; instead, she should inspire people to do what they say and be a better person. I want readers to watch Beth learn that lesson (or ignore it).
I was invited late into the project and had a lot of catching up to do. Though it was intimidating to get to know four other co-workers, learn about a project I knew nothing about, and write about a character that I didn’t have any ideas for, I’m glad I joined. I’m honored I was considered talented enough to jump in, and I’m looking forward to seeing where this goes.
I’ve been lucky to meet and work with four other talented authors. Together, we’re creating something none of us could do by ourselves.
In the future, I hope to see the project and my co-authors get the credit they deserve. I also hope to see other works from everyone I’m working with.
