Simone Georgette
“Simone relaxed and turned all her focus on the song. Guitar music had always been therapeutic for her, no matter what the song was about. As long as she had her guitar, and someone to rely on, she could tell herself that everything would be alright.”
Hiya, I’m Sky, and I write for Simone Georgette in the story But We Fall.
Simone hasn’t had the greatest luck in her life. Her parents cast her out after learning she was transgender, and now she’s barely scraping by and living in an abandoned theater with other homeless people. But despite this, she keeps an optimistic look on life and is determined to keep going on. She believes that with enough hope and determination, someday things will get better. I admire her determination in life-when things turn for the worse, as it’s easy to just give up, but Simone keeps going.
Simone’s arc will put her good faith to the test. The strange events of the story, the threat of her second home being lost, and her own self-doubt and dysphoria will start to take a toll on her, and eventually, she’ll have to confront reality.
I want readers to see how balancing realistic and optimistic viewpoints are important to have a healthy outlook on life.
I was invited to the project as the fourth of five writers through a group of writing friends, and while it was a little awkward at first, we soon started getting along.
I’m glad I got a chance to meet these four skilled writers, and while there have been some disagreements, we’ve accomplished a lot together we could never do alone.
I hope to see this story take off, and for my fellow co-authors to get the credit they deserve for their writing ability.
