Most would compare a girl to a rose. The most beautiful are roses but their thorns keep others at bay. Now, I'm not saying that these people are wrong but I think they left some things out here. A rose has its thorns for protection, to shield themselves from others who would ruin them. But a rose is never without a blemish. A small cut on a petal or just a dark spot on its red petal. A true, beautiful woman should be compared to a rose not for her beauty on the outside because she has just as many blemishes as a single rose petal. Not for the shields she puts up to defend herself, the thorns she uses to drive others away. She should be compared to a rose because she has her flaws and blemishes and is protected by her pain inflicted thorns just like a rose. So the next time you're reading or watching a movie where that boy or man is chasing after his rose, remember that he's not chasing a perfect rose because we live in an imperfect world where the most imperfect roses make the most beautiful.
