This reminds me of an experiment. They take a group of people, give them toothpicks, glue (or small marshmallows?), and a large marshmallow and the challenge for them was to build as high a tower with the toothpicks as they could while having the large marshmallow on top and without it falling over, within a set amount of time. They found that young children would, on average, have towers twice as high as adults. This is because the adults would waste time at the beginning deciding on a leader, and then coming up with a plan, before realizing they were running out of time and trying to build what they can. The kids however would just start, and they would constantly place the marshmallow on top to test the tower, and keep building from there.
Of course there were some outliers. Engineers tended to build towers twice as tall as the kids, and businessmen/CEOs tended to build towers half as tall as the adults. Heh heh. Thanks for reading if you stuck it out this far.
