They call us a model minority,
Ignoring the fact that we are not the ones with authority.
They say that we are intelligent,
And yet they bludgeon us in the streets like we are irrelevant.
They tell us that we can dream big,
And yet so many of us are living worse lives than pigs.
They talk about us like we are foreigners,
Despite the fact that many of us have been here for longer than their forefathers.
They gossip about our beauty,
And yet ignore the fact that they fetishize us as if it is their duty.
They only seem to talk about our light skinned cousins,
Acting towards millions of people as if they were dozens.
They laugh at our accents and appearances,
Forgetting that all people have their differences.
I wish,
With all of my heart,
That hate could be forgotten,
And love instead filled all hearts.
