Who's this "Kee" guy and who does he think he is? Does Atari have a... RIVAL? Yeah, that's what she WANTS them to think...
So, while researching info on Atari I found some interesting info. During the 70s, there was a company calling themselves "Kee Games" (pronounced like "key") marketing themselves as a "rival" to Atari, ripping off several Atari games (and Atari ripping off their games too) What no one knew (at first)... was that Kee was actually a subsidiary of Atari, created because of exclusivity deals. With Kee, Atari could sell games to several distributors.
People later found out about this, but this was just when Kee had released an original game called Tank that got really popular and successful. So distributors still wanted to buy it.
