-Excuse me? - A tone of confusion fell out of Blaze´s mouth in astonishment as his hands hugged his cold arms. -You want to play with fire?
Pond giggled at how naive this teens were.
-I mean to use your Soul to control it.
Clover and Lavender felt out of place, but instead, they were just in the right place at the perfect time.
-Why did you point just at him, though? - Clover said with indignant words. -We are all at the same level.
Pond rolled her eyes.
-Sweety, he is an orange soul. You may be able to see that colour, but not as perfectly as he does. The fire could escape your hands.
Lavender kept her words inside her head. What is this kid? Some type of Soul researcher?
The slowly falling leaves which occasionally covered little pieces of sight, calmly covered the ground with a darker tone of green than before, almost going back to the grey if was before meeting her friends.
Blaze took a step forward and to everyone´s surprise, he sat down and took out a box of matches.
-Traditional, intuitional.- He shrugged- New, I´m not really sure it can be true.
The blue Soul gave up and sat next to him. She would probably leave in a day, so why not make their last moments worthy?
Blaze, smiling at Pond by his side, turned on a match and threw it in a pile of dry leaves, quickly pointing at the girls for them to go and get some branches. Clover smoothly got a hold of Lavender´s arm and pushed her deep into a small forest of all the ones scattered around.
-Hey! Your bracelets hurt if you press them as hard as you did...- Lavender crossed her arms but didnt protest about being pushed into a cluster of trees.
-Lavender, that girl is dangerous. - She said looking over the shoulder of the body in front of her. -She knows a lot of stuff we don't. That's scary. I mean, she has been around for three hundred years, but she is still just a, what is it? 11 years old? something like that. - Her steps hard on the dry dirt echoed between the fallen branches as well as the weak words failing to stand up coming from her mouth.
Arguments failing, her voice trembling, her eyes looking for a spot to look at and hide the insecurities of the theories she was making up.
Lavender looked at her shattering companion. In the few days of each other knowing each others existence, she realized that this girl always had to overthink everything for her to sleep correctly, but this time, it just seemed to go too deep, too heavy.
-Clover, lets pick what we can find and just go back with the others. This is a normal... Human? No. Soul which is just sharing some time with us before leaving to hunt for the actual bad people. - Lavender´s legs bended as she gently picked up branches, not so long for them to be required to break, but not too short so they consume instantly. Maybe 7 would be enough for a long and talkative night.
But as much as she wished that was what had happened, the girls returned to see burning out leaves with no keepers.
-And that is just what you would need to get out of this purgatory.- The voice, which had a British tone, seemed thin and high-pitched. A kid, the few remaining Souls figured out.
