Dear Grim Reaper, Mom says heaven and hell don't exist and once we die, it's all dark. I asked daddy about 'grim reaper' and he said you were a bad guy that kills people. I don't believe them. it's not black after you die, and you're nice, you help people. Can you tell me if Spots is okay? He died last week. Will you take care of him please?

Dear Hailey, Your mom is sort of right, there is no heaven or hell. If you die, you are brought to the underworld where you wait for a next chance at life. I'm happy you have such faith in me, I've made a good impression on you kiddo. Spots seems attached to me so I kept him. I hope you don't mind. He'll be in good hands. I promise. Dear Grim Reaper, You told me you didn't have a name once. Is it because you really don't have one or you're not real and it's just mom and Bee writing these letters back to me. People at school say the Grim Reaper isn't real and I'm starting to believe them a little. I've never seen you and if you really are real, I'm so sorry I'm loosing faith in your identity. You're the closest thing I've ever had to a best friend and if you're not real, damn, I better start going out more. I'm 11, I've got a long life ahead of me. Hopefully, i'll see you standing by my death bed.

Dear Hailey,

You are right. You've got such a long beautiful life ahead of you, a god of death like me is too much of a danger for a mortal like you. I have lived many centuries and I understand your doubts. They're the same doubts atheists hold towards god. I am not offended in any way and I promise, I am not your parents pretending to be a fake being. I know we will most likely stop writing to each other someday, possibly soon enough. I would like you to know, that if you are ever troubled by anything for any reason and no one is available, you can write to me. I will always answer as soon as I can. I do not mind being your last resort, it's better than what I currently am to the world.
