Goldenrod City.

The glimmering gem that sits in the practical center of the world. By day, the streets are bursting at the seams with celebrities trying to keep up their reputation left and right, signing autographs for adoring fans and picking up random puppies and babies for a photo op. The voice of the people will tell you that Goldenrod is a city of dreams, where fantasy meets reality, the boundary between the two planes breaking and melting into one another.

If you ask me though, the real fun starts when the sun fades beyond the horizon. The street grows quiet and the darkest of alleys and underground clubs become the main attraction. The world turns into nothing more than an adrenaline-fueled roller coaster of lust, wealth and power. Goldenrod becomes a jungle, survival of the fittest, where the strong feed and the weak are feed upon. Especially during the warm seasons is when the action hits the pavement. The blood in your very veins will be boiling for cash, your mouth watering out of longing to be on top.

Someone under stress meets someone looking pretty.

When the rich come down to laugh at the poor, I was lucky enough to have my eyes meet her, a girl from Downtown, a place I’ve always wanted to be. She wasn’t as tall as most females, but the way her body was formed, skinny from the waist but sloped out at the hips was perfect enough to make even the most hellbent criminal change his ways. Her hair was envious enough for the sun to try and snatch it away, a god-like golden blonde with the diamond-sparkling eyes to match. I looked at her, fresh out of jail just that morning. She looked at me, fresh out of heaven, her lips curving into a smile as I walked over.

A hello turned into a number.

That number turned into a date.

And that date eventually turned into a ring.

Took a year to get here, but who said it was ever easy to be a crime boss? The Downtown is my domain now, my queen being the one who helps me pull the ropes and bring me information whenever I need it.

She is my queen and I am her king.

And soon, Goldenrod will be under our control.
