The seventh day showed and I thought I would never meet Maybe again. The rumors continued to spread into a massive wildfire where they said that Maybe will be on the cover of the schools' magazine as one of the most influential Verse.
While that was happening, the hate between me and Thunderbird grew. I couldn’t stand in the hall and talk without being shoved to the floor by his massive fat hands but nor could he attend class without several broken bones. This was all before and after the first class of the day.
When my second class came around, there was a crowd of Verses swarming the doors. I pushed my way through people, not thinking much of it but a small party to celebrate the end of the first week. But when I got inside, Maybe was there. Sitting on top of a desk with their usual fans, talking. I stopped and my mouth dropped open.
"Wait- What?!" I breathed.
“Ninety-One!” They leaped off the desk and hugged me. “I did what you said to do! I came here to visit you!” They took a step back and stopped hugging me, “How are you today?”
“I’m…Good? I’m speechless though! You came all the way down here to see me?” I questioned.
“Yep! I just wanted to know how you were! Anyway, have a good class okay? I’ll see you at lunch!” Maybe waved goodbye as pranced happily out. Those who were with Maybe followed, nearly emptying out the classroom.
“Ninety-One.” Mad, who was in the corner of the room with Alice approached me, “What was that? Was that Maybe?!”
“I uh…” I was wondering the same thing.
“It seems Maybe has taken a liking to you. Introduce us next time. Perhaps they would want to join us tomorrow at River Head mansion.” Alice’s eyes shinned brightly.
“You would want Maybe around wouldn’t you?” Mad laughed.
“Sure I’ll ask but I doubt they would want to join us.” I agreed. I didn’t see any harm in inviting Maybe to join us on our usual haunted history tour. I mean, if they didn’t mind the ghost sightings and such.
Suddenly a Horridan with curly blonde hair who wore black sailor uniform marched over to me. She pushed up her red frame glasses, revealing the bright orange “President” banner around her arm. Behind her was the Vice President (Android) and Secretary (Hellian) who both wore completely black uniforms.
“What?” I folded my arms across my chest.
“How dare you speak to me with what!” She snapped, “I was just getting a look at what caught Maybe’s eye. Some pathetic little Mixed I see.”
“Says the horn face.” I growled.
“Horn face!?” She gasped.
“That’s the only thing about you.” I pointed at her two horns that grew on her forehead, “Other than that you’re completely human. With myself, I can kick your ass with both abilities.” I cracked my knuckles.
Her face flushed bright red, “Shut up you evil queen! Anyway, don’t get close to Maybe you hear me?! Being a bad influence might bring them down from Ace class status and that would be bad for the Institutes ranking!”
She turned around and stormed out of the classroom.
“The fuck was that about?” I looked back at Mad and Alice.
“I think it was a threat.” Mad guessed.
“Her name is Liberty Ion, she’s the new Student Council President starting today.” Alice explained, “She’s responsible for the Institutes rank, events, and Verses.”
“Think she’s in love with Maybe too?” I questioned.
“I have no idea. Everyone seems to be in love with Maybe.” She admitted and I laughed as the bell rang.
