About an hour or two has passed ever since the attack. The police have come to deter and subdue the possessed Billy, but by the time they got there, much of the damage was already done, and the company building was in near-ruins from inside out. However, that didn’t stop the news from getting to the situation faster than any celebrity tabloid could make its way to TMZ. Broadcasts on every local news station hit local satellites and cables stations. Newspapers edited to include today’s recent attack, and witnesses and other denizens explaining to the news of what they saw or what they believed they had seen. It wasn’t long until the news played this top story on Sonia’s television. Interrupting the trio’s television program, the news played showing a video that someone recently posted of Billy’s demented attack.
“Oh my word,” Matthew spoke in surprise.
“I know right? How could a fat guy like that lift and throw a table heavier than him?” Scruffles commented. Sonia decidedly ignored her cat’s brash comment and focused more on hoping that her father is ok. Sonia hasn’t been well these past few months. Her mind was still in a stutter from the aforementioned demon attack many months ago. The ginger continues to have flashbacks of her fight against the avian beast. The pain and suffering that Sonia felt was unbearable to her that even parts of her body where she was injured resurface every time she remembers the incident, and every time she remembers its dying words…
“This isn’t the end… You may have proven yourself worthy of being my opponent, but don’t think that I won’t be so easy next time…” Solaria spoke through the avian demon in her flashback, making Sonia repeat the words, “…next time…” in a fearful manner.
“We will plague the Earth when darkness arrives… Your weak efforts will prove worthless to our power… Eternal Darkness will rise… and I… will have the pleasure… of ripping… the amulet… off of your cold……LIFELESS… FLESH…” are the last words that Solaria spoke just before the avian died. Sonia was only a teenager, more or less a child. She doesn’t know how to handle large responsibilities well, especially ones like this. The girl felt lost, and worried if the dark lord would not only go after her, but also the only family she has left… her dad…. Just then, a car screeched into the driveway, the front door was unlocked, and Sonia’s father, David entered the door with a shocked expression on his face.
“Sonia-honey!” David shouted as he ran to his daughter, “You’ll never guess what hap-…end…” David saw that the tv was already broadcasting the news and said, “Oh… hehh. I guess the word has already gone around, huh?” Sonia slowly nodded as she hugged her father tight and replied somberly, “I’m just glad you’re alright… I-… I don’t want anything to happen to you..” David felt an aura of sadness from her daughter and hugged her close. He then bent down on one knee and gently rubbed her hair and said with a heartfelt smile, “Hey kiddo, I ain’t goin’ nowhere. Nothing will stop your big ‘ol dad.” Sonia took in a hint as if her childhood memory opened up as she said, “And the big ‘ol dad will make momma glad…?”
“Exactly,” David replied, comforting Sonia as well. He then whispered that later today, the two of them could spend some father-daughter time together to which Sonia happily agreed.
The rest of the day passed on, and Sonia and her dad were spending some time watching a movie about dinosaurs attacking a city while her pets were upstairs in Sonia’s bedroom. Matthew was reading a book, and Scruffles was twiddling around with the amulet Mystica. The cat playfully puts the necklace on and looks at herself in the mirror on Sonia’s dresser.
“Y’know doggy-boy, even though this do-dad is a weapon of spiritual destruction, it’s actually quite fashionable,” Scruffles said as she posed in different positions while wearing the necklace.
“Well I wouldn’t get too comfy with it,” Matthew replied trying to keep things in order, “that “fashion statement” is also a dangerous weapon, so I suggest you carefully put it down before something happens. However, Scruffles took Matthew’s warning lightly and was rubbing the amulet’s red crystal in order to make it shine and show her smug, silly face. However, Sonia’s amulet began to shine and glow red. Scruffles stumbled and slipped and fell off the dresser, Matthew put his book on the ground and jolted, and glared at Scruffles to check to see if she’s ok. The amulet glowed violently and floated in the air then began to spin around, making a whirring sound. Matthew and Scruffles back up into the back of the wall, eyes widened; shuddering in fear of what the amulet was going to do next. Just then, a white light shines and a womanly figure walks out of the amulet. Scruffles and Matthew make a huge gasp and stutter, “It-…. It-… It-… It…”
“Hello, my young animal friends,” Feliferi spoke in her peaceful tone as she appeared in the room, glowing before their eyes, “Do not be alarmed. It’s only me.” The goddess knelt down to the pets and gently rubs their heads, and the two calmly relaxed.
“What are you doing here? I thought you were trapped in that amulet-thing,” Matthew pondered.
“I may not have much of my powers as I used to, but I am still able to come out time and again when I need to be,” Feliferi explained, “It may take some time, and Sonia’s assistance to regain all of my powers.
“Sooo we talkin’ days? Weeks? What?” Scruffles queried. The angelic goddess merely giggled at Scruffles’ comment and passed on the thought so that the two animals don’t get confused. The goddess then asks for Sonia because it was time for their important training session.
“Sorry, your highness, but the girly’s spending some time of that good ‘ol quality time with her dad,” Scruffles said, “You know how it goes, right?”
“True,” Feliferi noted, “However, I need her at utmost importance and I must speak to her.”
“Well unless you gots some magical spell or whatever to “steal Sonia’s soul” and bring it to you while her body and part of her mind is still active with her dad,” Scruffles retorted, “she ain’t gonna come until it’s over.” Feliferi smirked as her eyes began to glow as she chanted the magic words, “Ramignum… Zetroni… Azran… TORIHO!” causing a ring of magic to surround Feliferi. Meanwhile, Sonia and her dad were watching a fantasy movie whereas the goddess in the movie chants a spell as well, but with the echo of Feliferi’s chant, the two take it as if their TV had activated Surround Sound mode and enjoy the movie more. However, Sonia felt as if sudden magic just entered her body causing her to make a small shiver. The next thing that happens, she feels as if her soul is being lifted away from her body.
“He-hey!” The soul shouts, “What’s going on?!” Sonia’s soul watches as her body looks as if it’s still active, but she is taken all the way to her room and presented in front of the goddess. Sonia’s mouth drops and the pupils in her eyes suddenly pop in shock as she sees the almighty goddess standing before her. Feliferi giggled as she sees Sonia’s reaction.
“It looks like over time, someone has forgotten that we have a training session huh?” Feliferi spoke in a casual and silly manner. Sonia stammered and shook her head and awkwardly rubbed the back of her hair as a tiny sweat drop rolled down her head. Feliferi gently rubbed Sonia’s head and then opened a portal and said, “Come child. We must begin our training.” Sonia reluctantly agrees, but not without asking about her body first.
“Oh don’t worry. Your body and mind will still continue to spend time with your parental being. Once our session is done, your soul will be transported back into your body and you will remember both of what you did with him and your training,” Feliferi explained as she walked into the portal. Scruffles casually followed the goddess into the portal and shifted her head over, signaling the other to follow. Matthew got the signal and quickly follows, but Sonia felt reluctant. The girl merely sighed and slumped a little, then took a deep breath and followed the others into the portal. The portal then closes, and the trio begins their travels to the training grounds.
