SupportGreetings! My name's Ottey. Jean-Luc Ottey. Better known by some as "Mr. Toontastic." I write books (and the occasional comic strip) featuring cartoon characters that live within the folds of my many, many sketchbooks. Enjoy the ride!

Hey-Hey Toon-a-thons!
I just heard the news about Tapas shutting down. I must say that while its been a wild ride, I still owe you guys a big thanks.
So THANKS! Thank you all for the past 10 years of love, support, critiques, and most importantly... your patience.
I know I tend to take a lot of breaks only come back with one story or comic strip every few months (or years), but I see you all. I see you guys when you like the work or just view it. Heck, I'm happy to see you all come back here to enjoy the ride. And sure, while I've been off on my own indie ventures like "Goon Toon Books", I always treated that as a side venture while my main focus was here on Tapas.
I may have had my own frustrations, but... posting here was second nature. I never thought for a second that Tapas would shut down (even when it almost never updates with features that honestly could've benefitted the User/Creator experience). This place was just like home!
But just because the website's closing doesn't mean I'm leaving just yet. Cockroaches are hard to kill after all!
Until we get a proper end date, I'm still going to be here posting any and all new content for you to read, all from your favorite series and characters! And if you still want to drop some ink my way, feel free! We're not out of this game just yet! I'm also still reading a lot of work I subscribed to in the meantime. My backlog is huge!
I will need to save and archive all this work, though. That's a lot of content I made across 11 different series. Even if I haven't updated them in a while, I still would like to keep them stored. I may even remaster a couple of them once I get them archived. You guys deserve the best quality of my work after all.
In the meantime, I'll hope to see you in the next piece of work I post here. However, if you're eager to see my latest, non-Tapas work, check out "Goon Toon Books" here: https://goontoonbooks.carrd.co/
Catch you in the next post and don't forget to...
Be Toontastic~!
