Ahh... Another simply sweet day in the town of Orujinshinaka, town of the Harvest Moon, and procurer of infinite delights and treats to all forms of life. Our favorite besties, Mellisa and Julianna, have taken the time to simply sit back, relax, and enjoy the sky.
"Ooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhh," Mellisa began as she starts to sing. However, Julianna immediately covered the girl's mouth and responded, "Sing one vocal, ad it'll probably be your last," making Mellisa giggle. Mellisa climbed onto her Bestie's tummy like a curious kitty cat, and makes an adorable smile. Julianna looks up and away with her eyes so she doesn't get caught in her gaze. The two laid back and enjoyed a nice day of relaxation together. This didn't last when a large sound beat knocked through the air, shaking the trees and rustling the leaves. The Besties looked up and scanned the area. Mellisa, curious about what was making that sound, started ahead while Julianna was a bit skeptical about the situation.
"Where are you going?" Julianna queried.
"Don't you wanna know what that sound is, bestie? Maybe it's something exciting."
"Excitement is not a term I would use," Julianna retorted. However, the music vibration causes a lone apple that was swinging on a branch to fall over and conk the large girl's head. Julianna decided, "But... I'd rather go for it than get annoyed by falling apples all day," and followed Mellisa to find the mystery sounds. Walking by and climbing a few hills, Mellisa and Julianna hear the sound beats getting louder and louder. Mellisa took the opportunity and ran over, taking Julianna by the hand and rushing both of them to where they need to go. When they reach over the hill, they see a festival. Mellisa looks at it with wonder and glee.
"A music festival? What the-" Julianna started before Mellisa came in and said, "Wow bestie! Isn't this exciting?" The cheery girl then playfully egged Julianna on to go down there, but the big girl pouted in silence and wasn't fond of going to festivals. However, Mellisa looked at her bestie with puppy-dog eyes. Julianna, not wanting to give in, kept denying her request repeatedly up until Mellisa got sad and sniffled. Julianna blushed as she looked at her feet, sighed and complied. Mellisa cheered with glee and then is suddenly lifted by Julianna and is given a piggyback ride.
The festival itself is like a rave with its own mix of modern day club music, dubstep, with older teens and hipsters dancing about, acting like fools, and doing everything in the book that borderlines the word "rebel" without anyone having to say so. For some, this is a complete bother, but to others, it's a grand old time. Mellisa always had a fascination to things unbeknownst to her. She would always run about, trying anything around her, reacting to what she enjoyed to see or do. Julianna, on the other hand, saw that things were a little suspicious and off about some of the partygoers. The big girl held onto Mellisa's hand while keeping on the lookout for anyone that may attempt to do anything to the cheery girl. Mellisa held onto Julianna's hand and carried her around to different parts of the festival, from buying party horns and a lighter, to unknowingly buying Julianna some alcohol, thinking it was juice. Julianna took a sip, but then immediately reacted with her face cheeks growing red and faints to the ground. Mellisa kneels down to Julianna and pokes her to see if she's ok.
"Bestie? You alright?" Mellisa curiously wondered. Julianna opened her eyes and yelled in a party-like, enthusiastic manner.
"Bestie?" Mellisa asked as she helped Julianna to sit up, but Julianna jumped up on her feet and began to act very strangely.
"Daaaang Mellisa," Julianna started, "Don't you just love this KICKIN' party or what?!" A small crowd behind Julianna cheers with the big girl and pull her into the crowd, making her cheer, "YEEAAAHHHH!!! PARTYYYYY!!!!" as she disappears into the crowd. Mellisa held her arm out as she tried to reach Julianna.
"I gotta get to bestie," Mellisa spoke to herself determined. However, a partygoer snuck up behind Mellisa and inappropriately grabbed Mellisa from behind, causing her to make a small yelp. The partygoer was a college student who was drunk and confused as he tried to fondle the girl.
"Excuse me, sir," Mellisa asked the drunk man as she slipped out of his grasp, "Have you seen my bestie?"
"Yer bestie?!" The drunk partygoer hiccuped, "I dunno who that maybe, but I bet he gots a fine lookin' body like you." Mellisa didn't really understand what he was saying, so she simply just smiled, patted his head and walked into the crowd.
"Wait! Don't you wanna come give me a good time?" The drunk partygoer hiccuped but then slumped down once Mellisa was gone. Mellisa swam through the giant pool of partygoers looking for Julianna. The cheery girl dipped within the crowd, she pulled out empty cups, a clumps of t-shirts, used disposable items, headphones, money, people trying to grab the thrown money, a tire iron while unknowingly knocking someone out and causing a small crowd fight a few feet behind her, a few partygoers kissing one another, and large collections of streamers. Once she found a way out of the giant pool of party-folk, Mellisa came out covered in marker tattoos of floral designs, a person's phone number drawn on her wrist with an "XOXO" and a heart drawn as well, a few bead necklaces, a music note drawn on her hip, and her shorts and tank top were changed into a bikini top with daisy dukes. Her hair also had a crimson streak going down the side but that didn't stop Mellisa from going on the search for Julianna. Julianna, on the other hand, was partying hard on stage with a rock band also a few other fans. The dark girl was in full-on excitement from this wild facade that she didn't even notice Mellisa was searching for her. A girl in nothing but ripped clothing, pink highlights in her hair and a skull necklace sang in the microphone as right next to Julianna took off her black sweater and swung it around. The singer anticipated Julianna to throw it onto the stage and rock out and dance suggestively with her while drunk. The black sweater flows over the crowd and lands on Mellisa. Mellisa looks over and smiles noting that Julianna is nearby, so she runs over to the stage and waves, calling to Julianna.
"Bestie! Bessstiieee!!" Mellisa shouted. The crowd was extremely loud and got especially more vehement when Julianna and the singer share a "certain" moment. Mellisa kept calling out up until she finally Julianna's attention. The large girl drunkenly came off the stage, with a little help, and casually walked over to Julianna while stumbling.
"Melly-meeellll! You-" Julianna hiccuped, "Daamn girl, when did you start looking sexy?"
"Bestie, I wondered if you were ok," Mellisa wondered, "You suddenly disappeared and dropped your sweater."
"What? That old thing? Gi-gimme that" Julianna snatches and mumbles, "No-nobody touches my sweater...." Julianna wrapped her sweater around her body and continued to talk while trying to keep her balance, "Ohhh....check out this... This sexy tattoos on my back." Julianna turns around, lifts her shirt, and shows Mellisa a tattoo of herself and Mellisa looking suggestive while there are words that say, "2 HOT 2 TOUCH."
"Wow, whoever drew that is an artist," said Mellisa amazed.
"Hey Julianna! You comin' back up here or what?" The singer called.
"C-coming, Maxine!" Julianna called back. She then looked at Mellisa and gave her a clumsy hug and said drunkenly, "Go-go dance... I'll be up here partying if you needs me, Kay? love you, bai!" Julianna was then carried up, leave Mellisa standing and watching.
"See you in a little, bestie?" Mellisa said a little questioningly. A small thought passed Mellisa's mind, but the idea blew off once she looked around and saw the fun everyone was having and decided to join in on all the dancing.
Four hours have passed, Mellisa was sitting in a lone chair near a parking area while everyone was cleaning up, picking each other from off the ground, some parents picking up a few of the teenagers, some angry and their child, others were stunned at their kid's rebellious ways, and the rest were others with significant others or spouses picking them up and driving them home. Mellisa hummed while playing with her necklace. Just then, the singer called out to Mellisa. Mellisa perked up and looked to see the singer dragging a knocked-out Julianna to her.
"I hear you're Mellisa, Huh?" the singer began as she dropped Julianna onto the grass.
"Why, yes," Mellisa giggled, "That's my name. Why?"
"Your little friend's told me all about you," the singer laughed as she questionably raised her eyebrows, "Says you two do a lot together."
"Yeah! We're like two peas in a pod," Mellisa says with a smile.
"I see. The name's Maxine, I'm always on the scene," the singer introduced herself, "I like you. You're pretty fly."
"I can fly?" Mellisa asked, making Maxine laugh.
"Hahahaha, no, you dope, I mean you seem pretty cool and attractive," Maxine came off.
"Ohhh, I get it, you dope," Mellisa partially understood, not knowing that "dope" was an insult so Maxine looked at her as if she got hit by a comeback but then blew it off and laughed.
"You, your friend and I should hang out more. I know some GREAT games." Maxine said.
"Games?" Mellisa perked with a curious smile.
"Here's my number. Give it to her when she wakes up," Maxine said as she gave Mellisa her phone number. The singer then walked away from the two besties, and Mellisa took Julianna, sat her up carefully and gave her a necklace.
"C'mon bestie," Mellisa began, "Let's get you cleaned up and take you home." Julianna groggily groaned while stumbling as she walked with Mellisa home. Mellisa gently rubbed Julianna's back and giggles while asking, "Enjoy yourself, bestie?"
"Uggghhh...." Julianna groaned, regaining her consciousness, "Ugh... I don't feel to good...Did I..? Do anything stupid..?" Looking at all of Julianna's tattoos, markings, and other unnecessary junk on her arm, Mellisa look at Julianna's face and simply smiled and replied, "Nahhh. What you only have on your face is excitement."
"Thanks, Mellisa," Julianna replies as she holds her best friend's hand. As they walk down the sunset back to their neighborhood, the big girl looks at her hand and sees Maxine's phone number on her written on her arm with a heart next to it. Julianna raises her eyebrows in question and confusion and asks, "Who the hell is Maxine?"
"She's the girl that's ALWAYS ON THE SCENE!" Mellisa shouted playfully then began to giggle, making Julianna laugh as well while they walk home happily together.
