Ahh... Another calm and peaceful day in the town of Orujinshinaka, where the town crops bloom and the cities are robust. Aside from the unexplainable moments of otherworldly spirits attacking, the town is a lively place filled with interesting and exciting opportunities for the youngest of minds to get into... Unless you're Julianna.
"Heyyyyy...." Julianna snared at the narrator. She and Mellisa were sitting in the park with Mellisa's friend Cammy, who invited the two besties as guests for her family picnic at her house. Cammy was Mellisa's cheerleading partner at Orville J. Redmonn High and number one fun buddy since 2003. Her scarlet-pink spiky hair was always kept in a ponytail with the "tail" always up in the air without a care. Cammy loved to have picnics with family and friends, and Mellisa was always the life of the party when she was able to join. Julianna, however, wasn't so fond of being in a crowd, so she would always try to find a quiet seat by herself and wait until the party was over.
"Ehh-hehh-hehh..." An old man chuckled with a crotched manner, "Well if it isn't The Scarlet Witch. Come to cast a spell on another family picnic, I see." Julianna narrowed her eyes as she glared at the old man. The old man was named Rehmus, or better known as Grandpappy Jammy because of his moments where he always jammers on about whatever life story he currently remembers for the day.
"Oh darn. Sadly, I would have had my magic gear with me, but they're all left at my cabin home in the woods." Julianna answered sarcastically.
"You know, you remind me of my granddaughter," Rehmus stated.
"Who? Canny-Cammy?" Julianna queried.
"No, my other granddaughter," Rehmus replied as he pointed to a girl who dressed somewhat as dark as Julianna, but was a skinny girl. Julianna looked back at Rehmus and asked, "What makes you think I'm like her?"
"You're both so into yourselves that you're equally unaware of when someone pulls a prank right under you. Like your friend putting a fake tail on your whale-y butt."
"Fake tail on my whale-y..." Julianna muttered as she glared at the old man, thinking he was a pervert, but he was telling the truth when Julianna turned around to see a fake tail attached to Julianna's behind with Velcro. She quickly yelled, "HEY!" When she looked and saw Mellisa and Cammy, who was blindfolded, both giggling and some of the others were chuckling to themselves as well. Julianna's face grew pink and pink until she became red hot like an angry bull and steam whistled from her ears.
"Hehehe-AAH!" Cammy yelled, "El Toro es muy peligroso!"
"Que?" Mellisa asked at first but then turned to see Julianna, with arms reaching forward, charging to the two, "Oh hi bestie~!" Cammy playfully grabbed Mellisa's hand and told her to run as Julianna gave chase. Mellisa and Cammy ran all around the picnic area while the rest of Cammy's family enjoyed their fun. Cammy's younger brother, Julio, had placed a few marbles around as soon as Mellisa and Cammy passed by and Julianna slipped on them but kept her balance. She grabbed a pole and swung around it and returned to the chase. Cammy's twin cousins, Marcos and James were dancing to the upbeat Latin music that played throughout the picnic. Mellisa and Cammy danced as they passed by, but Julianna simply crashed through, knocking Marcos and James up in the air and then landing back onto the grass on their faces.
"Awesome..." Marcos said in a dizzy manner as he slowly raised his fist to congratulate Julianna's strength. Cammy's baby sister, Juliet, and their mother, Angel, were playing on a slip and slide and hopscotch board. Mellisa hops on the hopscotch board and plays the whole thing while Cammy hops on her rear and slides through the slip and slide before both are running again. Julianna, however, ran between both games while Cammy's mom quickly held Juliet so that Julianna doesn't run her over. Cammy's dad, Paulo, and his brother, David, withheld the barbecue and drinks, but Cammy, Mellisa, and Julianna ran circles around them like in a "Tom & Jerry" cartoon, making both brothers hold onto each other AND the hot grill tightly as they run by. Once they stop running around the brothers, David and Paulo let go of the grill only to have burn marks on their aprons and some of their arms while also smelling like delicious beef and chicken that made the dogs that Cammy owned begin to bark and jump happily.
"Hey, Melly-Mel!" Cammy said with a smile as she and Mellisa ran together, "Let's practice our jump routine up into the tree!"
"Ok!" Mellisa replied happily as they stop under a tree branch. Then, Melliss and Cammy perform a few cheer dances using their bodies. Mellisa jumps into Cammy's arms and hops and grabs the tree branch, and Cammy jumps and grabs Mellisa's legs and the duo swing around and hop straight into the tree. Julianna charges but screeches to a halt before implanting her face into the tree. The raging girl pulled herself off and then looked up to see Mellisa waving and Cammy making a silly face. Julianna grabs the tree and attempts climbing it, but only to slide down to the floor. Julianna looks up and jumps, trying to reach them both, but to no avail. Mellisa's watch then began to beep. The girl looked to show that time was 2:45 pm.
"Ooh, it looks like I have to go, Cammy," Mellisa stated, "My Grammy's gonna take me out."
"Awww..." Cammy replied and then gives Mellisa a hug, "Thanks for you and Julianna coming to the picnic." She then looks at Julianna who's still trying to go after them and waves while smiling happily.
"You're very berry welcome, Cap'n!" Mellisa giggled. She then walks to the edge of the tree branch and then jumps, and swan dives into the pool then swim across to the other side and hop out. Mellisa then signals Julianna, and the gloomy girl then chases after her while blindly running into the pool and running underwater across the entire pool while steam escapes from to the surface.
Meanwhile, at Mellisa's home, Granny Josephine stood by the door waiting for her granddaughter's return. Mellisa and Julianna run down the neighborhood lane, and Mellisa slows to an easy stop while Julianna stumbles after the tiring run. The angry girl panted as she bent down and held her knees while catching her breath.
"You ok, bestie?" Mellisa asked.
"I'm fine....! Just fine.." Julianna replied through every catch of wind she got, "I'm still... Gonna... Kill you though..."
"Kids, you can kill each other all you want later. It's time for me and Mellisa's appointment at the hair salon," Josephine remarked, holding her purse and cane and everything, "Oh, and Julianna?"
"Hm?" Julianna started then looked up, only to get a conk on the head by Josephine's cane.
"Quit tryin' to murder me, granddaughter. That blind rage'll earn you a good knock on the noggin one day, and boy. You don't want that. Got it?"
"Yes, ma'am..." Julianna replied while also a little annoyed. She then glares at Mellisa, but Mellisa simply gives Julianna a hug and a smile. Fighting the urge to push her off, Julianna just looks into the sky as her anger lowers and the girl feels less tense. Mellisa and Granny Josephine get into their fancifully polished jalopy and begin to drive off, while Julianna waves goodbye to the two. Having no important plans for the day, Julianna decides to head down to the record store to get herself a new rock album. Since the record store wasn't far in town, Julianna could easily walk there without worry. Once there, Julianna sampled some rock records. Some of which she liked, others were just sounding like trash. Just then, by the corner of her eye, Cindy and her no-good fashion cronies had walked in the store, being divas as per usual. Julianna quickly hid behind a wall of one of the store shelves and muttered to herself, "Aw crap, why did she have to be here of all places? If she catches me, I'm busted for sure." Julianna had once gotten revenge on Cindy by playing a prank on her, which the results caused the mayor's daughter to end up in the hospital for a week. Cindy did vow that if she finds Julianna, she would personally bust and embarrass the big girl in all for the public to see.
"And I was like, 'Yeah, I've seen that dress, it looked great on you!' But really, it made her look like a FAT cow!" Cindy remarked about one of her schoolmates, making her cronies laugh.
"So have you gotten any good outfits that'll overshadow that 'creepily cheery girl?'" One of Cindy's cronies asked. Cindy choked a little on some spit then looked at the questioning crony as if she was giving a deep, soul-invading glare.
"You think I'm not trying? Every time I come with the most FABULOUS outfit, that little dope-fish comes around with something better!" Cindy complained, "I'm the beautiful one! Not Andrea! Not potato-face, and not even that dumbass Mellisa!" Julianna didn't like when anyone insulted or try to hurt Mellisa. It would bring her in a serious rage if anything happened to her bestie, but since she didn't want to be caught, and her hand was slowly turning into a fist, Julianna walked out of the record store. Her feet make a small stomp while she looks down at the ground while making up her face as much as possible to not get angry.
"Okay okay, let's chill girl," Cindy's other crony spoke, trying to calm her, "Don't give yourself worry lines and early wrinkles."
"You're right..." Cindy simmered, "Looks mean everything. Gotta, like, make sure we're hot for the boys." The three divas cheered at each other as the decidedly left the music store in order to head over to nearest teen department store. Julianna, on the other hand, wandered over into hypnosis store that was recently built up last month.
"Why would anyone build a store for hypnosis? What idiot would bring anyone to be hypnotized anyway?" Julianna thought to herself until...
"Wow, Sonia! I feel like a STUNTMAN!" David, Sonia's dad, yelled. David ran out of the hypnosis store and began to perform some dangerous tricks around the mall much to Sonia's chagrin. Sonia ran out, chasing after her dad while yelling, "Dad! Wait! Be careful!" As she went after him. Stunned that someone actually came out at tried this, Julianna quickly shook her head and then began to investigate the situation. The girl walked over in front of a receptionist's desk, and the receptionist looked over her and asked, "Hello there. Do you have an appointment?"
"Appointment? Uhh... No. I just wanna see if you really are telling the truth about hypnotizing people," Julianna retorted.
"We're not allowed to show off our secrets just like that, little girl. It's business, not a charity. Besides, if we did, then EVERYONE would want to try it," the receptionist explained.
"Well, can I just go in to see?" Julianna deplored, attempted to walk through a walk-in door. The receptionist quickly got in her way and commanded, "No persons shall enter without a proper appointment." Silently, Julianna narrowed her eyes and then walked away while looking back at her with her narrowed eyes. Julianna then turned the corner and waited there. The receptionist went back to reading, but her watch alarm alerted her that it's her lunch break. The woman walked out of her work station and turned an alternate way to the food court. Julianna quickly snuck in and climbed over the desk to see if hypnosis was real. Julianna opened a black door slowly and saw that to her left were a collection of dark goggles.
"Goggles?" Julianna's thoughts queried. A flash of lights then travels through the black room. The lights faintly reveal that two people were in the room. One was a tall man with a goatee wearing the same dark goggles that Julianna had seen earlier while the other was a skinny man in a tank top and shorts. The lights and hypnotic symbols surround the area, while the "Hypnosis Master" chants, "Forget everything you know... Forget who you are and your life story... You are in my trance, and you will know only what I tell you..."
The chant was slowly repeated, and soon the patient began to repeat it, and suddenly Julianna, who was in disbelief at first, was slowly falling into a trance and began to repeat it as well. She quickly grabbed one of the goggles, so she doesn't fall into it, but there was a crack on one eye of the goggles and Julianna was suddenly caught in the trance. The Hypnotic Master had entered her mind, and just as he said, she began to close out her mind and personality and began to remember nothing about herself, and became blank. Before the Hypnosis Master could say more, Julianna was quickly pulled out of the room by the receptionist who had grabbed lunch to go. The receptionist scolded her, but Julianna stood there with a blank stare. The hypnosis had stopped her from bringing out a response, so she simply just turned and walked away aimlessly. The receptionist perked up stunned as Julianna walked out on her but then decided to just leave it and say to herself, "Meh," and go back to reading while having her lunch.
