Shadow’s POV

I looked at River and she settled into a ball next to me. Then all I felt was my body hit the ground hard. Now I can hear River and her small yells on top of that you can hear West snarling and snapping at the other wolves. The wolf on me jumps up to help the other wolves he was with. Why are they here they could ask us to leave. I get up and see they have River pinned against the mountain. I run up and bite the nearest wolf's neck and throw him away from her. Then the other wolf runs at me but stops and runs into the woods with the rest of them. I run to River’s side and put her on my back.
