Binge reading this right now, but at this point it seems obvious that The Duchess is Order rather than Stability, and Kai is Chaos. The reason why the two of them seem to have similar essences, however, I'm still uncertain of. Other than the fact that Order needs Chaos as much as Darkness needs Light, the only other thing I can think of is Kai is the Counteractant for the Counteractant, ensuring she doesn't go unchecked by at least one equal entity. I suppose I'll find out if my theory is correct eventually.
