KAZUO HIMURA, age 22, graduates from university with high prospects in life. But he's tried unsuccessfully to find work and now considers life a miserable joke.
One night, while surfing the internet, Kazuo stumbles upon a job advertisement offering an unbelievable sum of money to "participants". Humouring the advert (and driven by curiosity), Kazuo emails his resume to the advertisers, not expecting a legitimate response.
To his surprise, however, he receives an interview-notification for the very same job the following morning. Unbeknownst to Kazuo -- this will be no ordinary profession. In fact, it is little short of a death-sentence.
