Colt
Gluttony’s gift from Lucifer turned out to be the perfect thing to carry all their camping supplies. Colt thought it was amazing that it all fit in the bag itself remained nearly weightless. Dad really was good at giving gifts Colt thought to himself. Once their group walked back into an area with cellphone service, Noki made her mandatory phone call to the Holy City.
“I have successfully captured Gluttony,” Noki declared triumphantly into the phone. Colt looked over to where Sati sat, caressing their bag and looking quite terrified. Given, Sati had every right to be scared. Noki was going to make them into a sword and she was making great progress. Deciding maybe it was best to help his sibling, Colt made his way over to Sati and sat down next to the Sin.
“Hi, Sati,” Colt flashed a smile. Sati fidgeted nervously, but looked to Colt with worried eyes.
“Hello, Colt,” they responded.
“How are you feeling?” he asked.
“Hungry…” Sati said in true Gluttony fashion. Colt cracked a grin at the response.
“Of course you are…” he trailed off, noting how Dica was moving in closer to the two of them.
“Hey, Sati,” Dica said with a slight frown. “How you holding up, buddy?”
Sati visibly flinched away from Dica, and Colt realized that even after all these years, they were still terrified of Dica.
“I’m… fine… just… I don’t want this to happen to us,” They admitted. “I don’t want to be forged into a sword.”
“None of us do,” Colt said softly. At that, Dica snorted.
“You sure don’t act like it,” he fixed Colt in his judging eyes.
“What does he mean, Colt?” Sati asked. Before Colt could respond, Dica opened his mouth.
“‘That looks like Sati over there!’” Dica mocked in a singsong voice. Sati’s face contorted into a mask of shock.
“Colt, did you really do that?” Sati exclaimed horrified.
Who does Dica think he is assuming I don’t care Colt simmered to himself.
“I… I…” Colt tried to stammer a defense, but Dica kept going.
“‘Sati’s Gluttony,’” he continued to mock.
“Shut up, whore!” Colt snapped angrily. Dica’s mocking subsided as he glared at Colt with icy eyes.
“Leave me alone, mutt!” He growled. Sati began to inch away from the two of them. Colt’s head snapped over to Sati.
“You aren’t mad, are you Sati?” Colt’s eyes lit up with hope.
“Well, yeah, Colt. I kind of am!” They said with a mix of disbelief and frustration. “We’re all going to die!”
Colt flinched away. I guess this really is my fault Colt thought guiltily.
“I… Didn’t mean for this to happen…” he mumbled.
Dica raised an eyebrow. “Aww, you didn’t mean to?” Dica mocked further.
Colt shakes his head. “No… I’m sure I can figure a way to fix this.”
Dica rolled his eyes. “Sure you can.” Colt’s face grew red with defiance.
“Yes, I can. I promise I’ll get us out of this situation.” Colt swore.
“I hope you’re right, Colt,” Sati sighed. “I hope you’re right…”
Noki walked over to the trio with Puella in tow. Puella looked rather pissed, from what Colt could tell. He figured that she still hadn’t gotten over Noki commanding her yet.
“Alright,” Noki said into the phone. “I’ll call you when we get to the motel.” So it looked like they would be getting beds tonight. This excited Colt as he was tired of sleeping on the ground. Nothing beats my bed back home Colt thought nostalgically. A pang of homesickness hit his stomach. Would home be the same once we return? Dad is gone and Dica is in charge now. If Dica wanted, he could have me thrown into the dungeons for a few thousand years, or take away my title of being a Prince of Hell. He could do whatever he wanted to me and I’d have no say in it. Colt shuddered.
“We should start walking,” Noki said, pulling Colt from his worried thoughts. She handed Puella back her phone and took the lead of the hike back through the campgrounds. Colt followed close behind Noki, hoping to stay far away from Dica.
“Hey, Noki, can we get food soon, Sati’s hungry,” Colt asked. She appeared to ponder it for a moment before she nodded.
“Yeah, sure. I’m hungry too,” she gave Colt a small smile that made his heart flutter. There was just something about Noki that Colt couldn’t help but adore. What is that feeling Colt wondered to himself.
They walked for a while, Dica eventually made his way towards the front with Noki.
“Hey, Noki, did you know I grew up in the woods?” Dica asked the brunette.
“I remember you saying something about that back in Ireland,” Noki responded.
“I guess that’s why I like the woods so much,” Dica mused, looking about the foliage above. “I was going to be King of the Banshees.”
Noki giggled and Colt felt a knot begin to form in his stomach. Noki deserved better company in Colt’s eyes. Dica is only pretending to like her, after all. He’d only betray her trust in the end. He already tried to kill her once. Colt’s thoughts only made the knot grow, irritating him further.
“Hey, Noki,” Colt started, placing a hand on Noki’s shoulder. “You really shouldn’t be talking to a whore.’
Dica glared and reached over to Colt, gripping him by the throat. Colt’s eyes widened and images of his death flashed through his mind. Dica gave him a dark smile then threw him against a tree trunk. Colt hit it with a thud and slid down to the ground, his head spinning.
A dismayed yell sounded from Noki’s lips. “Dica! You just can’t do that!”
“And why not?” Dica growled. “The bitch started it.”
“I’m not a bitch!” Colt spat from where he staggered to his feet. “You’ll pay for that, slut!”
“Aw, slut?” Dica mocked. “I thought I was a whore.”
“Shut up, both of you!” Noki yelled. “I don’t want this entire trip filled with you two going at each other.” Colt shut his mouth and walked quietly behind Noki. The group was quiet save for the occasional growl of someone’s stomach.
Once they reached a fast food joint, Noki ushered them all in. The group attracted weird looks, It’s probably our hair they’re looking at Colt assumed based on the gazes all around him, They’ll just pass it off as hair dye or something and move on.
Sati ordered a gross amount of food, which was as much as Noki would allow the poor creature. As Colt ate, he found himself mesmerized by how Sati ate. Despite being so small, they were able to scarf down large quantities of food at a time while maintaining being composed and elegant.
How could their stomach fit so much of this stuff? Colt wasn’t fond of the food, it just made him miss home more and more. After eating, they took a short walk to the motel they would be staying at for the night. It was a grubby looking building and Colt wrinkled his nose at it, but at least it was a bed for the night.
“Okay,” Noki spoke up. “We have two rooms, we’ll split it down to boys in one room, girls in the other. Sati, you can stay in whichever room you’d prefer.” Colt watched as Sati studied him and Dica before inching away towards Noki and Puella. But I don’t want to share a room with Dica Colt complained internally, but he decided it was best to just leave it be, or else Noki might yell at me again. I really don’t want her mad at me.
Sighing, he made his way into the room and noted how it smelt like cigarettes. The room itself didn’t look horrible, but the most upsetting feature was that the room only had one bed. Quickly, Colt darted over to it and catapulted himself onto the bed.
“I call the bed,” he announced.
“Oh no way,” Dica snapped. “We’re either sharing it or I get the bed.”
“Why should you get the bed, I called it first,” Colt argued.
“Because I’m a king. Mutts sleep on the floor.”
Colt’s felt his face heat up. “Well, I don’t want to share a bed with a whore.”
“Kings only share beds with their lovers,” Dica winked. Colt was instantly repulsed.
“Whatever, whore.” Colt grumbled, lying down on the bed. Dica strolled over and flopped onto the bed beside Colt, giving him a challenging look, as if he were begging Colt to try and stop him. Arrogant Prick Colt thought as he moved away from Dica on the bed.
“Is that your only comeback?” Dica asked, a smirk on his face. “Whore this, whore that. Get creative.”
“Ever think people call you that for a reason? It’s what you are.”
“I’m a lot more than a whore you know, I’m a king,” he declared with a grin.
“Yeah, King’s whore,” Colt breathed. Dica’s grin faded.
“I am the king now,” Dica grumbled. “You just need to come to terms with that. Lucifer’s dead.”
Colt flinched away from the words. “He was a better king than you’ll ever be,” he growled.
“Maybe to a spoiled prick like you,” Dica leered. “When you get back the Hell, things are going to be a lot different. You don’t have Daddy to protect you anymore.”
“I don’t need him to protect me,” Colt snapped.
“Well you certainly won’t protect yourself. I used to be your bodyguard after all. I know how much of a pussy you are.” Colt’s face fell at Dica’s words. Just because he’s right doesn’t mean he’s correct, I’m just too… gentle… too... Colt thought for a moment sadly, too weak.
“You’re one to talk about hiding behind Dad, you slept with him for power,” Colt tried to turn the conversation around.
“I didn’t sleep with him for power,” Dica said quietly, anger still alive in his voice.
“Of course you didn’t,” Colt said sarcastically. “How did you manage to seduce Dad?”
Dica was silent for a moment. “I’ll show you.”
In a swift motion, Dica forced himself on top of Colt, staring down at him with menacing, yet conflicted eyes. “First, he pinned me down to his bed like this.” Colt’s eyes widened as he struggled against Dica’s grip on him. He pushed vainly, trying to shake the older Sin off.
“Dica, stop!” Colt pleaded. “This isn’t funny!”
“See, that’s the great thing about being king. I don’t have to listen to you,” Dica said coldly. “You can beg and plead all you want, but a king doesn’t have to listen.” He straddled Colt’s body and pressed his lips against Colt’s neck, leaving a trail of kisses down it.
“Dica…” Colt whimpered. “Please.”
Dica was quiet for a moment before he opened his mouth, breathing against Colt’s neck. “Now that I think about it, kings have whores right? I think it’s about time I get myself one.” He pulled away from his neck to speak against Colt’s lips. “And I think you’re the perfect candidate!”
“What… what do you mean?!” Colt panicked, twisting and turning underneath Dica.
“Think about it, you’re young, cute, innocent and most importantly,” Dica gave Colt a heavy kiss. “Unwilling.” Dica ran his fingers through Colt’s hair, gripping it tight and pulling it. Colt yelped and began to thrash about.
“Dica please!” He continued to plead. “Why are you doing this?”
“Because,” Dica began to unbutton Colt’s dress shirt and plant kisses up his torso, “I want to use you, and break you. I want to leave you broken and begging and I want everyone in Hell to know what I did. And you know what they’ll do?” He pulled away to gaze into Colt’s eyes. “They’ll point and whisper ‘whore’ under their breath every time they see you. And they’ll think that they have the right to touch you too, because you’re the King’s Whore.”
Tears welled up in Colt’s eyes as realization flashed across them.
“Dica… I don’t want this…” he sniffled. Dica studied Colt’s face for a few seconds before sliding off of him.
“Neither did I…”
Once the words left his lips, Dica rushed out of the room, leaving Colt behind to process what had just happened.
Dica
What the hell is wrong with me? Why did I do that? Dica walked out of the room and shut the door behind him, leaving Colt with the bed all to himself. He half considered knocking on Noki’s door and seeing if she wanted to talk, but he shook the idea away. There was no point in trying to talk to her.
He remembered that this motel was attached to a restaurant. A buffet or something like that. Maybe he would head there? Suddenly, the door to the room next to them opened and out came Sati.
“Sati,” Dica said a little too happily. “What brings you out here?”
Sati flinched away. “Hello, Dica.”
Dica hooked his arm around Sati’s. “I got into a fight with Colt, it didn’t end well. Heard there was a restaurant nearby, wanna go?”
Sati seemed taken aback by Dica’s boldness, but they nodded anyway. “Actually, Noki sent me out to get food since I was hungry…” They flashed Dica the card. “She wanted to take a nap…”
“Ah, classic Noki.” Dica shook his head. “Alright, let’s go then.” He was eager for any kind of distraction. As they walked, Dica tried smalltalk.
“So, why Michigan?” Dica asked.
“Well, I was raised here and I wanted to see it again just in case.”
“Just incase?” Dica raised an eyebrow.
“With the Sins getting captured and all… I just wanted to see home again, just incase something came after me too…” Sati sighed. “It’s big talk in Hell right now.”
“You should have just stayed in Hell,” Dica sighed. So his kingdom did know something was going on. He figured that they would have caught on by now, but things were probably in chaos down there.
The two of them entered the buffet and made their way towards the food. Dica was too upset to eat, but Sati, being Gluttony, stacked food onto their plate. They both sat down at a booth and Sati began eating.
“So you got into a fight with Colt?” Sati asked.
“Yeah. but what else is new?” Dica grumbled. “But this fight was particularly bad. And I don’t know what to do about it.”
“Maybe apologize,” Sati suggested. “Be the bigger person?”
“He doesn’t deserve an apology,” Dica growled. “I was a bit rough on him, but I didn’t know how else to get it through that thick skull of his.”
“I see… You and Colt do fight all the time though. Maybe he’ll get over it?”
Dica sighed. “Believe it or not, we didn’t always fight like this.”
Sati looked amazed. “What do you mean?”
“Colt and I used to be pretty close when he was younger. He didn’t treat me like everyone else in Hell did…” Dica smiled at the memory. “Until he started hanging around that bitch Solis all the time.” Sati flinched at Sloth’s name. “Then he started calling me a whore to impress her.” Dica snorted and rolled his eyes.
“I see…” Sati breathed, getting up to grab another plate.
“I just...” Dica said as Sati walked away. “Don’t want him to hate me.”
