The sun; located in the centre stage of our star system, humbly start its lifetime inside relatively dense concentrations of interstellar gas and dust known as molecular clouds.
As the material drew together, gravity caused it to spin. The spin caused the cloud to flatten into an accretional disk. In the center, the material clumped together to form a protostar which is a ball of hydrogen and helium not yet powered by fusion.
As the pressure and temperature increases (>10 million kelvin!), hydrogen starts to fusion and eventually drives the sun that we know today.
Mineral Moe (Mimoe) project is an outreach project to spread the love of Earth Science to the public.
At first, the series started as a fun pastime for me to learn about minerals as a part of the Mineralogy module; by imagining the minerals as characters with specific traits similar with their real world counterpart. I started to draw the characters, created their personalities and was having fun imagining their story inside my head. As time went on, I felt like I should give this project a go hoping that it might help people to know and love minerals more.
