The first light of dawn broke through twilight and still guests were threatening and complaining like crazy!
“Eric, where da hell is Shore!” The manager barked.
“I sent Agatha to find her over three hours ago!”
“The hell, d’at girl! Always late to da desk and first t’ vanish! Swear one o’ d’ese days I’ma firing her!”
“Firing who?” A sweet innocent voice quipped up from behind.
“Shore! Where…” The manager eyed her curiously… Water dripping all over the lobby floor.
“Why ya soak’n wet?” He snapped!
“Went swimming!” She gave him virtuous smile, that waved all anger from his mind.
“Get t’ work!”
“Ay-ay Capt’n!” She swung her arm up and made saluted in a playful gesture, the manager just shaking his head.
“You know what happened?” Eric queried.
“Yip, thief again?” She smirked knowingly.
“I got this!” She said climbing up to stand on the front desk.
“Listen up everyone!” She bellowed and the lobby fell silent.
“On behalf of the hotel management, I’d like to apologize for any loss you incurred, due to hotel policy and terms & agreements signed by all of you, there is little the hotel can offer to make up for what transpired. So as a means to insure, your holiday still remains memorable, the hotel management has arranged a feast on the beach tonight, all drinks and food free! Also free guided tours around the island, so please making your bookings, tours include drinks, food and souvenir photos!” Shore’s voice alone had seemed to put everyone at ease, it fascinated Eric how the girl could do it each and every time! Better still, was the fact that very few ever book the tours, even though the tour itself is expensive, and their best income came each time after these ‘break-ins’ with the tips the guests gave the bartender and waitresses at the feast… So really the hotel wasn’t losing anything and still made a huge profit!
