Sarah stared at her phone. Blind date with Jo’s friend. He was supposedly nice, very handsome. She saw the pictures. It would be awesome. It would be so easy to fall for him. Romantic dinners, walks by the seafront. It would get serious soon. Meeting parents. A proposal at Hawaii. The wedding she always wanted. One, no two, kids. They would be cute after her, smart after him. Was he smart? She would have to give up the job she loves. Stay at home. Things would get boring. She would get boring. The evenings with nothing to say. One day he would come and she would know. The girl would be half his age. She would be alone, again. This time with two kids. And they would turn out after him, the bastard. Life sucks.
“Sorry, got other plans,” she replied.
