The woman signed for her room, and pulled a credit card from her purse to pay for in advance.
"Thank you, and I hope you enjoy your stay!" Agatha bowed her head in greeting as the woman just flicked her hand in the air, walking towards the rest rooms.
"So Shore, ready..." Agatha turned to find an empty seat.
"Again." Agatha sighed. Leaning back in her chair.
"I see she was able to sneak off again with either of us noticing." Eric came to the desk, the guest having taken his leave, giving him some freedom. The two talked some more, about meaningless everyday happenings.
"It just surprises me that the Miss wants to work? She's the Mayor's daughter and all..."
"Adopted, he barely gives her the time of day, it was only for good press!" Eric recalled her tell him once.
"Excuse me?" The woman was back.
"I left my phone here." She stated as if it was a fact.
"Sorry, Ma'am, but there's no phone here, sure you had it with you, here?" Agatha asked, not having seen a phone.
"You think I'd leave on a trip without a phone?" The woman sarcastically threw back her shoulders striking a pompous pose.
"I'm sorry Ma'am, I'll just double check." Agatha checked on Shore's desk and then the ground. Nothing.
"Sorry Ma'am it's not here!"
"Well then dial the security and have them check the footage! I'm sure that other 'lady' must here taken it then!" The woman crinkled her nose as if in disgust; but to keep the peace Agatha did as the woman requested.
"Hello Boas, can you check the camera footage if a phone was left here at the reception desk, I can't find anything; time should be anything from 3:22 till now."
"Sure t'ing!" Boas voice cheered over the phone. Fast forwarding and rewinding the footage from several angles he found nothing...
"Sorry Agatha, but t'er no phone! Only Shore sneak-an'-run off again!" His rustic voice pleased Agatha's nerves.
"Thank you Boas!" She set the phone down.
"Sorry Ma'am. There's no phone. Could you have it in your purse... or hand luggage?" Agatha asked, the woman just shook her head.
"I'll be back down later, if I still can't find it, then I want to see the footage myself!" The lady stormed off. Returning moments later, Agatha had warned the Manager, ahead of time, and gotten permission to show the footage to the woman, since so many things had gotten stolen as of late, what harm could it do? Maybe they could catch the culprits in the act! But still nothing, not even the footage showing her come in had her carrying a phone...
"Must have left it in the cab or plane then... I was just so sure..." The woman seemed embarrassed.
