So...
-I groan, rubbing my head, crouched down next to Jim.
What do I win?
Jim spits out blood onto the ground. I bit my tongue.
Yeah. Check your eye, too, champ.
He touched his left eye, and felt blood from a large cut under it. He looked up to the grinning thug standing over him, Jim's blood staining a ring on his hand. Jim returned the smile, slowly stood, and wiped blood from his mouth. “Ahaha...you shouldn’t’ve done that, boyo.”
The thug laughed. “What, you gonna do something about it, bitch?”
“Nope.” Jim smiled, with bloody teeth. “She is.”
“Who are you-”
A thin arm reached past and lifted the thug effortlessly into the air. Blitz glared daggers at the man, eyes full of rage, for a moment, before tossing the man hard into a nearby wall. The bricks gave way and dust filled the air.
He started to stagger upward through a coughing fit, as Blitz cracked her knuckles and approached him slowly, moving with purpose. “No one. No one can touch him. No one can hurt him.” The guy was just able to get back on his feet in time for Blitz to punch him back into the dirt. She turned, spat, turned back, and placed her foot square on his neck. “No one will abuse Jimmy ever again.”
The second thug and moved to go help his friend, the one under Blitz’ foot. As he moved past Warren, however, he was grabbed by the shoulder, and spun around to face Warren, who was grinning madly. “Where you goin, sweetheart?” Warren headbutted him straight in the forehead and then effortlessly sidestepped the leader, who had tried to throw a punch at his head. Warren gave him a knee to his stomach for his troubles.
“You ever feel really inconseqeuntial in these situations?” Eddy asked, walking up to Jim, Garrett in tow. The two thugs behind us were too stunned at the bloodshed to move.
You have no idea...
“Eh.” Garrett shrugged.
“Inconsequential...I’m not sure...” Jim replied, poking at the cut under his eye.
“What is going on...” The leader mumbled from the ground as he watched Blitz kicking the other one in the stomach over and over. Warren lazily dodged the second thug’s punches and halfheartedly returned them.
“They aren’t normal...” Said one of the two from behind.
“The hell are you two doing?! Fucking help me!!”
The two finally moved into action, running past Eddy and Garrett, one pulling out a gun from the back of his pants.
Garrett spots the motion and sighs, barely bothered. “Stop.” his voice echoed across the alley.
The two froze where they were, and then looked at each other, terrified.
“On your knees.” He said, lazily walking towards the two, pointing to the ground. The two dropped. “Now you.” Garrett continued, gesturing at the one with the gun. “Let’s point the gun at your friend there. There we go.”
“Oh god...” said the kid at gunpoint.
“What the fuck are you two doing?!” the leader shouted.
“I don’t know!” Said the one with the gun. “I can’t control my fucking arm!!”
“They’re Shattered Generation!!” Said the one without the gun. “Oh god, they’re fucking shattered!”
“And I’m Bugs fucking Bunn-” he screamed, now panicked.
“Pull the trigger.” Garrett sighed, staring at the leader.
The alley echoed with the sound of a gunshot as Garrett’s victim dropped to the ground, a pool of blood forming from his head.
The thug fighting Warren turned to look at the body. Warren took the opportunity and quickly moved behind him to lock him into a neck hold.
Blitz picked up the guy she was beating on, grabbing him by the head in her left hand. She growled, and presses her thumb into the thugs eye. She dropped him unceremoniously “Eye for an eye.” and then left him screaming in agony as she rushed over toward Jim.
“Jimmy! Jimmy are you alright? How bad is it?” she asked frantically, gingerly holding Jim’s face.
“Hun, I’m fine. I’m fine, really.” He said, taking her hands from his face, and holding them to their sides. “See? Barely a scratch. Didn’t feel a thing, anyway.” He showed her the cut, which was already scabbing over.
She looked unsure. “Well if you say so...”
“Well...we can’t just let them live at this point.” Eddy said out of nowhere. Garrett turned to him and Eddy looked back before continuing, “If they get away, it’d cause problems for you guys. We should probably just kill them.”
Garrett sighed, then turned to the thug with the gun, still on his knees, pants soaked in blood and tears running down his face. “What a day off.” He sighed again, slightly frustrated. “Alright, hermano. Put the gun to your head.”
Honestly this is our best chance to stay under the radar. Stay safe.
Well if you think it’s a good idea...
Jim released Blitz, holding a hand out to Garrett. “Hold up, Gar. Warren, let ‘em go.”
Warren shrugged, and tossed the guy down next to his leader, but Garrett looked at Jim confused. “Why, exactly?”
“The alien said it was a good idea, huh?” Blitz asked.
“Yeah.”
I’m not a friggin alien.
Garrett looks at Jim for a minute before nodding. He clicks his tongue and the guy falls to his hands. “You may go.”
The thugs all started to run off, but the leader stopped and turned, hatred in his eyes. “The Roma is gonna fuckin’ remember this.”
“Someone has to.” Warren said, dusting off his hands and pants legs, bored.
That was stupid. It’s gonna bite us in the arse.
Oh shut up, will ya? Jim snarled at my direction.
Blitz lightly put a hand on Jim's shoulder. “Are you sure you’re okay...” she whispered meekly.
“Hey, hey. I’m fine, Blitz.” He looked her in the eyes and smiled. “See? Everythings fine.”
Blitz smiled softly, relieved, and embraced Jim. “I’m sorry I didn’t keep him from hurting you...” She whispered into Jim’s shoulder. “I’m a terrible girlfriend.”
“What?!” Jim asked, looking her in the eyes again. “Excuse me? You have better things to do than fight my fights for me. How many times do I have to tell you I can handle myself?”
She chuckled sadly. “Like you could manage in a fight.”
Jim grinned and kissed her on the forehead, leaning upward on his toes.
The two looked deeply at each other, and started kissing again, more passionately. They slowly start backing towards the alley wall, never breaking from each other. As Blitz worked to undo Jim’s belt, he pulled away her jacket.
Why. The. Fuck.
At the entrance to the alley, the three boys stared at the pair, Eddy alarmed, Garrett indifferent, and Warren grinning.
“It’s fucking thirteen degrees!” Eddy exclaimed, looking at his phone
Warren whistled at the two. “Wooo, get some!”
Garrett gave Warren an aside look. “Rather strong change in stance from earlier, Warren.” Warren shrugged in response, and Garrett nodded. “Well I guess we should leave them be.” He said, turning to walk down the street.
“Sure hope this doesn’t burn us later.” Eddy commented as a fire engine went roaring past them, lights igniting the dark streets.
“We can still catch up to them if ya want.” Warren snorted. “But than you’d be agreein’ with Jim’s shadow. And he doesn’t even do that.”
“Yeah...” Eddy said, unsure. He turned to see a building at the end of the street, lighting up the night in flames, as the fire fighters rushed to attack the fire and prevent it from spreading to the old buildings next to it. “I guess you’re right...”
