Powers of a phoenix
Phoenixes in my stories generally follow the description of phoenixes in other stories. But they also have a few characteristics that are unique to my universes.
-A phoenix that dies has the ability to resurrect every time it dies without limits. The age at which he comes back depends on the age the Phoenix wishes to be. he must, however, have lived that year at least once. (a phoenix that is just born cannot become 100 years old physically right away. his body must age to 100 years before he can do it, if he goes back in age, it will make the process longer. In this story, Felix has already "died of old age" before, so it will not be a limitation)
- Just like many intelligent huge creatures, the Phoenix has a human form to better fit in crowds and city without scaring everyone and a "true" form. The true form tends to draw more power (for instance, big animals like dragons need to eat more to support their entire body, in human form they need to eat human's amount of foods). They trade power for simplicity and convenience. Since phoenixes have bodies literally made of flames, they cannot stay in that form very long or would need to be constantly eating or burning fuel.
- There is only 1 Phoenix, as their ability to resurrect make reproduction obsolete. If they do get a child, the child does not become a phoenix too but does inherit a good amount of magical power, mainly in the fire element of course.
- They can shed tears with healing properties, which can cure any poison or diseases, but they can't fake them. (They can't force tears like some people can, and they are often not easy to make cry). The poison must be lethal, or else it will have no effect. If the poison is close to lethal, it might ease the symptoms to supportable degrees.
- Not all of their feathers can be used for resurrection [see a future episode.]
- There is a way to prevent a phoenix to come back to life, both temporarily or permanently [see future episode]
