There was no helping it now though and he returned his attention back to the boy in his hand. Shadow lifted him off the ground by his captured arm until the boy's terrified face was level with his own. He then grabbed him tightly by the front of his coat, his sharp claws easily piercing through its thick and durable cloth to dig deeply into the boy's shirt underneath. After making sure he had a good grip, he released the boy's arm and the teen snatched it away from to cradle it with his other. This hand was now free to join the other in holding the boy up. He drew the teen in close to stare him right in the eye.

     "Shut up," Shadow growled at him. The teen had started to say 'oh shit' quietly to himself over and over again as soon as Shadow had started lifting him by his arm. It was annoying, and he wanted him to stop. The teen did so with a small whimper.

     "Now what should I do with you?" he said to the senior before lowering him slightly, so he could think without him in his face.

     He glanced over at the other four boys before an idea began to formulate inside his head. He hadn't been fed yet that night as Marlene had been at the party since before sunset and had been planning to feed him when she got to Gracie's house. She had also planned on finally revealing him to her there as well because then her friend would be in a familiar location that she would feel safe in and would not be so easily frighten by him. He had already expended quite a bit of energy to deal with Gracie's and Marlene's attacker too.

     Enough so that what Marlene would normally give him would not be enough to 'fill' him tonight. Besides, from what he could see of the five boys, they could all stand to lose a few pounds, some more than others. But first, he needed Marlene's permission to feed on them before he could so much as taste one. He sent his request to her through the link.

     Marlene had felt Shadow's hunger pains through the shared link long before he sent his request to feed. She knew she could trust Shadow's judgment when it comes to feeding on a person's life force as she had seen him do it many times to her and others in the past. He could vary it anywhere from a simple taste to draining all the excess energy a person had stored in their body fat without even touching what was stored in their remaining tissues or life span.

     She had even seen him drain a man completely dry once too. It had left his body a withered, mummified husk when Shadow was done. To be fair though, that particular victim had done many horrible things long before he had crossed paths with Shadow and deserved far worse than what he had gotten at Shadow's clawed hands. The five teen aged boys were nowhere near as bad as that, so she didn't need to worry about him going too far and causing them any actual harm.

     Marlene gave Shadow her permission to feed.
