Shadow felt a smile twitch at the corners of his hidden lips when he received Marlene's consent. What Shadow did next was mostly just an act but one fueled by a very real hunger. He lifted the teen back up to his face before dispelling the black mist hiding the rest of his face from view. He closed his eyes and breathed deeply, inhaling the teen's scent. The boy smelled really good to him and he feel himself begin to salivate in response. He opened his eyes and grinned at the boy, showing off a mouth stuffed full of long, slightly curved, and needle-sharp teeth. The teen whimpered in fear.

     "You smell good..." he quietly told the boy. "Very good...and I am so very hungry..." Shadow's smile faded a little. "I hope you don't mind if I take a little bite....do you?"

     "please don't kill me!" the boy pleaded in a small voice. Shadow's gruesome smile returned, and he removed one of his hands from the kid's coat to pat him gently on the head.

     "Don't worry... I won't kill you..." Shadow told him shortly before roughly grabbing the boy's head by his hair. "Shard wouldn't be very happy with me if I did.…"

     With that said, he proceeded to tilt the scared teen's head to the side, so he could examine the area between the boy's neck and shoulder. He avoided the obvious choice of biting the throat and for went for the muscle instead. It would take longer for him to finish but biting the throat would mean puncturing the boy's jugular veins and it would cause the boy to bleed out in Shadow's mouth. He didn't want that. All he wanted was a little of the boy's life force; not his life.

     Shadow retracted his teeth into his jaw, so he wouldn't nick his tongue on them as he licked the chosen spot in preparation. He knew his saliva had numbing agents in it and that licking would numb the area, so boy wouldn't feel him sinking his teeth into him. He didn't do this out of some small inkling of mercy for the boy but rather out of a centuries long habit he had picked up during his time as a blood wraith.

     As soon as Shadow believe the area to be numb enough to bite, he stopped and returned his teeth to their normal position shortly before sinking them into the boy's tender flesh. True to form, the teen did not feel Shadow bite him but, a moment later, special muscles in the back of the wraith's throat began to flex. The muscles pumped Shadow's feeding venom through his sharp hallow teeth and into the boy. The kid began to scream then, as he felt a painfully intense burning sensation shoot through his veins and through-out his body.

     This was because the adrenaline in the boy's blood caused Shadow's venom to work faster than it normally would. Had he been calm and relaxed, he would've only felt a pleasantly warm and slightly drowsy as Shadow's venom slowly drew his life force out of his cells. The force would then turn into a liquid in the boy's blood which Shadow would filter out and consume. The senior, on the other hand, would keep on screaming in pain until Shadow began to feed, after which he quickly lost the strength to do so.
