The Music In My Ears

The Music In My Ears

Oct 09, 2017

The day was exhausting, like any normal day. It was the same schedule: go to work, get yelled at, work extra, come back late..

Tired, I flopped onto my bed right after work.

My bed felt nice and fluffy. Pillows and blankets surrounded me as if I'm laying down inside cotton candy. I feel all my worries melt away as I sink into my soft bed.

It felt like the safest place I could be in the whole world.

But I was wrong.

In the middle of the night, I felt a gush in my bladder.

Restroom, I thought to myself. I stood up from my bed and made it to the restroom with a blurred vision.

Afterwards, like any normal person would, I returned to my safe bed.

However, I felt myself getting pushed and pressed against my bed. There was nothing there. The pressure was gone for a moment, then it came back again.

Thinking I was still dreaming, I rolled onto my bed while the pressure was off.

But as soon as I got on the bed, the pressure came back again. It was stronger than before.

Then, I hear music next to my ears. It's like that of a radio; staggered.

I hear party noises. Men, women, and children chatting and singing. The dancing music from the background is playing loudly.

Then, the volume increased. It went up to the point when my eardrums felt like they were about burst.

A voice, as deep as the ocean, whispered next to my ears. The voice was chilly like the winter breeze.

"Wanna join my party?"

A cold hand griped my shoulder and pulled me down from the bed. I screamed and lost consciousness.

My alarm clock rang.

I sat up from the floor, and found that I had knocked my head on the drawer.

"Whew, it's just a nightmare."

My eardrums still aches, but I thought that was only the aftermath of the knock on the head.

One thing made me certain that it wasn't.

I saw a hand print on my shoulder, and inside, were words engraved onto my skin.

"Wanna join the party? I'm still waiting for your response."
