The trip towards the aquarium made Emily's mind go completely nuts. There were an almost infinite amount of things that could go wrong. The worst ones even managed to bring a shiver down her spine. This didn't go unnoticed with Cole. Not knowing how to calm her he even resorted to methods he had never used before and normally wouldn't either. But he couldn't just stand there and watch. Slowly he slid his hand out of the dark blue pockets of the hoodie first touching the back of her hand with his. When she didn't pull back he grasped her hand trying to comfort her. Emily's breath stopped for a moment surprised from the unexpected bold move. The surprise only worsened when she notice that the soft hand holding hers wasn't cold as it had been yesterday. On the contrary even it was warm and it wasn't caused by sweating. Not like he wasn't sweating, he certainly was. It didn't matter all that much anyway. Knowing that he was holding her hand was more than enough for her. And this time she wasn't the one who had started it. The shy boy had taken the initiative himself. She couldn't help herself she had to see the expression on his face after making a move like that. Turning her head didn't reveal much though. All she could see was the light blonde of his hair masking most of his turned away face. Looking a bit closer however there was a glimpse of bright red against the light tones of his hair and skin. It made her want to squeeze him in a tight embrace. The only reason for refraining herself being that she didn't want to scare him off.
